I'm interested in textiles and I've told them that i have a passion for it. Also, I dont know what other courses to choose. Hopefully I'll get offered a place in 6th form. I've written that I would like to choose Textiles as one my courses as it can open career paths and because I'm currently doing it as one my GCSE's, I can use the skills I have already got and apply them.
Thank you.

No worries
Its for obvious reasons such as plagiarism problems. So just be careful in the future.

It's really hard writing a personal statement. Its like I'm just lying about who I am. They say I'm meant to be selling myself, like, what do i write about? How dull I am? lol.

Oh right.

Say something like... "Studying Textiles as a GCSE I have realised that I enjoy this subject particularly because I enjoy doing _____. I believe this is an outlet to my creativity and wish to study it at a higher level. I have been able to constantly demonstrate a critical understanding of textiles."

Follow these steps for your Personal Statement:

1) List reasons why you want to study Textiles
2) Lists reasons why you enjoy doing in Textiles
3) Summarise this all into paragraphs

Include this saying this is what you have learnt from textiles:

- Think assertively for yourself
- Express design ideas professionally
- Able to demonstrate confident and appropriate use of a range of textile
- Understand processes and materials more in depth
- Understand how textiles is applied in contemporary contexts

Hope this helped, good luck!

Feel free to ask more questions

I prefer to give detailed advice over vague. Hopefully all goes well and you go to the college of your choice!

To make you feel better and confident for your application to college, I'll tell you that colleges barely analyse these "personal statements", it's more of a skim and scan process. So don't stress over it!
