I have been offered unconditional places at Reading Uni to do english lit as well as english lit and language

Both have similar and interesting modules. I want to use this degree to improve and publish my own work and to use my own work, and study how trauma and mental illness impacts on how we communicate and write.

Any advice is welcome

English Literature is generally far more respected than English Lit and Language.

IMO, the Language half of the degree is unnecessary - I feel that if you study Eng Lit, you end up developing the skills you would through an Eng Lang degree anyway, and more.
