The university's library is always a good place to start to find information, also I find going onto journal websites such as SAGE is a good way to find information.

Homeostasis means a balancing act, in simpler terms. Homeostasis means the ability of a system to maintain its life and survive by creating oppostie forces in order to achieve a balance that will ensure survival. Homeostasis is also the ability of the human body to maintain health and smoother body funcions by triggering body actions and reactions that ensure stability of the system of the body. The exampls of a cough can be one good instance of a disease that affects homeostatis within the body systems, tissues, and cells. If a patient keeps coughing a lot, the throat is bound to get affected negatively. The veins in the throat, the tonsils, and the body tissue of the inner surface of the throat organ are bound to have bruises and swelling due to the high pressure and disturbance created by the act of severe coughing. The tonsils and the rest of the organs around them are in a state of homeostasis when a person does not have any throat infection, cough, cold, etc. The whole system in this particular part of the body works smoothly in the absence of a condition such as, a severe cough. In the presence of a sever cough, the inside of the throat might get red because of the rough experience and activity of air coming out of the lungs with abnormally increased pressure due to the act of coughing. In this case, the natural defense of the body will heal the disease of cough, and body will get back to its normal state. If in any case, the cough is not treated, and it continues, the body tissue may get used to the abnormal pressure though initially, the act must create some pain and disturbance in the throat.
