Beetroot?!

When you cut a beetroot, the cell memebrane gets damaged and the red pigment leaks out!
BUT, the red pigment is found in the vacuole, so are they refering the "cell membrane" as the tonoplast or what?

You need to break both for them to leak, but it doesnt matter much, does it?
