There are hardly any mixed-sex flats, we've only got two in Maple Bank atm apparently, cos they're trying them this year.
The mixed-sex flat I know all get on really well, in fact they're exactly the same as any same-sex flat
I guess it depends on whether you have any particular problem with being in an all-girl flat.

Some are mixed some aren't. Its about half and half at Queens Hospital Close where I am.

I'm seriously thinking of phoning housing services and asking them to change my preference for Elgar to QHC... it'd put me closer to my mates at Aston and I like the idea of a mixed sex flat. Need lads around to stop the bitchiness if the girls don't get on!

Hmm, have to have a look on the accommodation day... where else does mixed sex flats?

That's exactly what I thought when I filled out the accomodation form - more boys, less bitchiness, well fingers crossed anyway!

 Ermm...I sent it off with single sex...Am I going to spend all first year regretting this? Or is it ok, just not as good as mixed flats?

I'm sure if you give them a ring they can probably change it for you.
im going mixed - better to be with some girls rather than just lads !
i said single sex too but im going to email them and change it
if ur put in a single-sex flat you won't be surrounded by just girls/boys! the block i lived in while at tennis courts was mixed sex with single sex flats - there were 2 boys flats and 4 girls flats. surely its not going to be terrible if you're not in a mixed sex flat?
I dont care really what type of flat i am in - i just dont want them to to think that i would mind being in a mixed sex flat so im just going to say i have no preference.

I'm in maple Bank and we have pretty much all single sex flats, but our block is mixed and so it's not like you'll be living in a hall with only girls or only guys. Shackleton has mixed sex flats, I think it's because they have ensuite bathrooms and we don't.

I've put down mixed-sex. As a lot of people have said I don't mind that much, but worried that if it was an all-female flat there could be a lot of bitchiness, just depends who you end up living with though I guess.

I'm in a mixed-sex flat in Jarratt Hall, there's not that many of them, but those that are mixed-sex get on really well. I'd *really* advise going for mixed. Some of my friends are in same-sex flats... Sometimes The boys argue, and sometimes, the girls bitch... it just happens we argue/bitch less.

Conclusion: Go mixed!

I was hoping to get a female in the flat for a bit of bitchiness. Keeps the dirty men in order. Sounds like mutual beneficiaries.

hahaha, some good points there. I called them up and they agreed to change it. It was suprisingly easy! I'm so glad I've changed it! Now I'm less worried about bitchiness, but theres still the grades to make! Always a problem... *grumble*
