which hall is the best in preston campus?

treefriends, that depends completely on what you're looking for.
Whitendale and Roeburn are about equal in quality, and are the two most popular halls on campus; the only real difference being that Roeburn is en-suite, and Whitendale has the shared bathroom.
Derwent, Douglas, Ribble and Eden are apparently quite nice, but are smaller and slightly further away from the central campus area, and apparently the traditional halls Blakewater, Brennand, Brock, Brun are less attractive to live in, in terms of decor etc, but they involve a more close-knit community if you prefer that
I lived in Roeburn for my first year because I didn't want to share a bathroom and I was happy being there, but I know others from Whitendale who preferred sharing and had a fun year there too.
Hope that helps a bit

Shared bathrooms in whitendale ended up being a lot better than I thought. If you are in 5/6 cluster flat which I think the majority are you get a separate toilet as well as the toilet in the bathroom. Roeburn are more modern but then are more expensive. You do get a better living room area though with some nice settees whereas in whitendale you just have the kitchen bit and as cpj2987 said - en suite bathroom. Cannot comment on other residencies as I did not go in them...

Overall I think preston has one of the best student accomodation than most uni's in the country, I think it is a bit more spacious which is more appealing to me!
I went to liverpool once to see the accomodation there and I tell u, I could barely move in their bedrooms lol.

Think preston accomodation is good, just depends how picky you are

I guess thats to be expected really so your place is properly secured and they have a definate occupant, otherwise people might not get a chance to fill empty gaps that people couldnt be bothered turning down or they changed their minds.

I havent got my student card but on the bright side I got my identification back from the finance people which must mean they reached my application

I was expecting to pay a deposit but receiving the contract today and it saying the deadline for receiving a reply is the 16th gives me what 2-3 days to sort £250 out.

Not cool when I'm supposed to be saving for Camp America (to which I depart to in just over a week's time also)

Which also kinda messes up my student finance application because I can't send them my passport. Arghh

ooh whats camp america, i havent heard of that, is it a summer school?
You can send your birth certificate instead of your passport, if u dont have a copy you can go to the registry office in the town you where born and pay around £6 for an original copy to send off.

Um, hate to disappoint Katie, but flat 7 is first block, top floor (4th floor up)...
I almost wish I'd be living on campus but thankfully I got a friend who's also travelling there everyday so we're going to be travel buddies  So im pretty much sorted on that front too. I have a few money worries but i'm sure i'll cope fine

Hehe yeah, all last year's top-floor-ers were shocked by the end of the year at how healthy they'd become :-p Takes away the impact of the takeaways lol

I think ill be living off pot noodles and micro chips! as i dont even know how to boil an egg... although i make fantastic beans on toast :P

I dwell in the loft at home and its a killer, not because of the stairs but because the heat rises into ma room and (me being silly) i refuse to open a window as im freaked out by creepy crawlies that always seem to venture into my room. No doubt ill be experiencing the same thing at UCLan :P

Hopefully there will be someone in the flat not scared of spiders or wasps, and can dispose of them for me, as i refuse to kill them... its not their fault i dont like them -_- plus dead wasps always seem to call their friends...

lol!!! Don't think the 'dead' wasps call their friends, might be difficult, what with them being, well, dead? :p:
Although I doubt the wasps bother with the top floor, they'll be as lazy as the students I think, second floor the limit and all that! Don't know many spiders that bother climbing that high either.
On the plus side, ain't no burglars getting to your flat :p:
