What do you bring with you when you sit an exam?
I usually bring:
a few Biros
pencils
calculator
ruler
rubbers
sharpener
Polos
I usually stuff them into my blazer. Sometimes I bring my pencil case, but it isn't a clear one - it's a furry Zippy one - so I leave it untouched on the floor. It was a sort of mascot, for moral support. I am no longer taking my phone into the exam room.
I'm going to bring a clear pencil case for these exams. I'm not sure whether to bring a protractor and set squares. I've never needed them for A-level exams, but should I take them anyway?

I shouldn't think a protractor is needed for anything other than maths
These exams i brought two pens (one black and one blue - couldn't be bothered to find two of the same), a pencil, rubber and calculator. And i didn't have time to get a clear pencilcase so i just put them in a sandwich bag. They make very good makeshift pencilcases.
Ah yes and water. -

I'm using a clear plastic wallet in lieu of a proper pencil case! Zippy stays on my shelf. -

yuo're allowed polos?! we're not even allowed water
which is stupid if our exam is like 3 hours, they can't be bothered going round and checking ur water bottles in case we've somehow scribbled the entire syllabus onto the plastic wrapping

I might as well bring the protractor and company. They're Oxford ones, so they should remind me to do well!

I take my pencil case (which is clear, and normally has pens, pencils, rubber, ruler, etc. and a calcultor if I need one), a bottle of water and my glasses (so I can see the clock)

We can have unwrapped sweets, which is to prevent you writing on the wrappers. Its still possible to write on the polos though... although that would take up alot of time!
one would have to be really desperate to start riting on polos .... i tkae in pretty much the same stuff as the rest ... but i take in my ex gf's ring too .. around my neck with my dog tags as a lucky charm .... pretty stupid ... but hell ... its smthing i always take in ... -

I have never brought water into the exam. I think I shall do so this time.
I remember during a GCSE exam, my mate dropped his packet of Skittles onto the floor! They went everywhere. It was hilarious. -

We're not allowed to take water in, if we want it, we have to have it from the front

Last year I had a policy of popping one Polo into my mouth every time I began a new question. I worked at a fast pace; by the last question I had three Polos in my mouth at once.

That really is embarrassing for that to happen to your mate! At least you got a laugh out of it -

I normally take a bottle of water and the usual (pens, a pencil, maybe a calculator or ruler). Can't function without my water though especially when its super-hot like now.

I was using a plastic wallet but my mum got me a clear pencil case today
which is good because the plastic wallet rustled a lot and i'd feel really like I was pissing people off by getting something out.
Other than that, I take in about 4 pens (any less and I have a nervous breakdown about running out of ink), lip balm and water. And a ruler for some reason (all my exams are essay type ones, but I always have a ruler) -

Well, my pencil case and if it's 3 hours a bottle of water. People who bring sweets in are so annoying... one girl had like 3 packets of skittles and was opening them really slowly trying to be quite, but it was so loud and annoying, and went on for 5 minutes cos she was trying to do it quietly and so slowly. She got extra time as well, and there's nothing wrong with her. Damn cheaters.

Your wallet must live dangerously as well!
Wilko can cater for anything- i have no money, so i purchase ten pence crisps, five pence toilet paper and twenty three pence pens. they have never run out on me yet. if i do run out, i'll just figure something out.
