Please help me solve this question?
an engine develops 120 horsepower at 80%, approximately what horsepower would be developed at 65 percent power?
Or in other words...
80% of the total horsepower they can reach is 120 hp. This means that 40% of the total is 60hp*, and 5% is 7.5hp**. Then, you can figure out what the 65% value is, since 65 is 5x13.
May sound a bit complicated, but that's how I like to work it out
*bc 40% is half of 80%, and 60 is half of 120.
**bc 5% is an eighth of 40%, and 7.5 is an eighth of 60.
