constant headaches

i've been getting constant headaches for the past few months, and its making me really tired. my face is hardly ever relaxed, im frowning without even wanting to. i do get enough sleep, i get over 8 hours at least, usually 9, but this holiday i've been getting loads of sleep, and its not improved anything.
any advice on what to do?

edit: could it be the laptop i use? i've been using it since febuary and i cant really remember if the headaches started before or after that

are you getting enough water? frequent headaches are a classic sign of dehydration.

Drink green tea, always works for me

I've had headaches for a year and mine are due to blocked sinuses, do you feel any pressure around your face/forehead?

Reply 4

possibly not, especially in winter, but when it gets hot i drink a LOT. so it varies from day to day.

yesterday i think i drank 3 glasses a water, its usually about that much, it can sometimes be more or less

no its at the side of the head (temple?)

Get an eye test! You may need glasses.

I had headaches for a few months, really bad first couple months, then they went away. Apparently it was due to my senses being knocked out so to speak from a viral infection.

Now they've gone. See how it goes. Go to the doctor for a blood test maybe?

ya u may need glasses or ur eye sight changed (if u already are wearing one)
thats what happened to me last year...i got worried for having a headache 24/7 and i did blood tests etc but there was nothing. i then went to get new glsses and that headache went!

I've been through phases of having constant headaches; causes for me were stress and needing new glasses. Poor posture can give you headaches too as it causes strain on the neck muscles - do you slouch? Or it could be diet-related - sensitivity to caffeine or sugar are common headache triggers I think.

had a blood test to check out my liver not long ago, they said everything was fine (so i guess for everything else too)

i have no problem with my vision, so i don't think that its because i need glasses

probably for those reasons, i do slouch a bit when im at my desk, other than that i dont. i do drink a lot of caffeine and i think i have too much sugar every now and then.

You might also spend too much time watching tv or on the computer, which even if your eyesight is good will put strain on your eye muscles.

i don't watch tv, other than a film every now and then. i do watch prison break every monday and lost every week. but thats not much. i do spend a lot of time on the laptop, and i get my headaches usually from reading heavy bits of material or using words, but this isn't the case for reading books, hence i dont think its my vision

You don't have to have problems seeing things for the cause to be your eyes.

I used to get really bad headaches...Went to the opticians and he told me it was because my eye muscles were working over time and couldn't relax. He prescribed me some glasses that didnt change my vision, but relaxed my eye muscles.

Could be the same for you.

thanks for the info, ill get them checked some time soon if thats the case then.

I meant blood tests that will show if you had a viral infection or not.

It's unlikely to be your eyes.

Depends on what they tested you for; they only check for a limited selection of illnesses at one time, or you'd have needed to give more blood.

I agree with some of the others that you should have an eye test. I've never had problems with my vision but decided to have my eyes checked out before uni because it was free and I'd been having headaches, especially when I was tired.

It turned out that the muscles in one of my eyes were 'lazy' and so it was more difficult to focus which caused the headaches.
