convert the two logarithms into exponential equations and solve them simultaneously

that is equivalent to the simplified logarithmic form, but it is not in the exponential form. if you want to convert log base a b = c into something like 2^2=4 what do you do? you must apply one of the rules of logarithms. which one, however, is for you to figure out
