i'm entitled to a grant which i will only get if i apply for a student loan in my second year

im not going to live out to save money, but i have heard most people never come close to having to pay off their student loan

would it be a mistake to apply for my loan (which i wont have to spend), and get my grant which i can use for travelling, even though it will add to my monthly repayments when i eventually get a job?

Hi

You can apply for the maintenance grant without applying for the student loan.

You complete the application as normal, indicate where you will be living and at the loans section state you do not want it.

Thanks
