I quite like The Bends, but I don't see what the massive fuss is. I can see that they're really good musicians and talented, but it doesn't touch me that much.
IS THIS EVEN A QUESTION!?!?!?! BLASPHEMY!!! any heretic who believes the falsehood that U2 prevails over radiohead should have their carcasses seared in fire and brimstone.
hey did you hear that story about the U2 concert in glasgow? the band stopped playing, bono asked for a moment of silence, wherein he started clapping slowly. clap...clap...clap... whilst clapping, he proclaimed, "every time i clap my hands... (clap...clap...clap...) a child in africa dies of starvation (clap...clap...clap...)" to which a distinguished member in the audience shouted, "WELL STOP FARKING CLAPPING YA KANT!!!"

yay
dang, imagine what happened when everyone was clicking their finger at live 8
i also find the kind of peopel that really hate U2 are fairly young (under 25- mainly coz that is the kind of people i hang with) and really only know stuff from the last 2 albums - most of U2s best stufff i from the 80's and early 90's and sadly a lot is unknown by youngsters of today.
I like both but overall I would have to say that Radiohead have more good songs and also The Bends is one of my favourite albums. I agree with some of the previous posters that U2's best songs were from their earlier albums although i did really like "sometimes you can't make it on your own".
