I want to put these 2 as my top when selecting accomodation for september - any major differences because they seemed very similar when i visited?

To me they look the same. Looking in the accomodation leaflet thing and they look the same.

The only main differnce is Marlborough you have to leave, completely, at Easter...which means its cheaper but a lot more hassle. Solsbury you get to stay in at Easter.

Wow thanks.... Solsbury wouod be great for me! I love a long way away!

I'm living in Solsbury at the moment.. have pictures somewhere, I'll have to dig them out.

In my opinion its not worth the money, yes its a really nice room and you've got your own en-suite, but there's only 7 people to a flat (5 or 6 in the ground floor flats) and you don't socialise with other flats that much after freshers week, I only really know people in the flat opposite me. I would have rathered to have been in Eastwood & had an extra £12 a week to spend.. ok so you share a bathroom and there's more people to a kitchen, but the rooms are bigger than Solsbury and Westwood and everyone I know who lives there says you never have to queue for the toilet/showers. At the end of the day, most people are happy with where they end up staying in the end, they might moan about not getting into Solsbury for a few weeks, but the Westwoodians love Westwood and the Eastwoodians love Eastwood, the Norwoodians even say Norwood is good but I personally wouldn't like to be there :p:

Umm.. any questions feel free to pm me.

That was EXACTLY what I was going to say!

I lived in Marlborough and one of the reasons I dropped out was because my flat just didn't integrate particularly well. In fact of the original seven people living in the flat, 2 left. They put another person in the flat and he left as well.

When those flats work they're really good but when they don't work it's really lonely.

*PLUS* they can be really noisy- Only one connecting wall is breeze blocked, the other is dry wall/painted plaster and chip board so sound really travels through them.

Personally, I'd say go for Eastwood.
Whaaaat?! I was in Solsbury the first year they were available, and I wouldn't have swapped it for the world! The bathroom was just so nice! And yes, I know what you mean about them being less sociable than the others, but there are plenty of other ways of making friends.

I live in Solbury

It is lush, and its really nice living here. All my flat are cool, im friends with quite a few other flats, theyre all nice. Had a fantastic time this year.

Saying that, i might chose Eastwood if I had the choice again. Having an en-suite is absolutely lush, and they do have better storage, desk area, cuboard space, and floor space then eastwood. Aswell as better windows.

But Eastwood is more homely, Solsburys corridors feels a bit enclosed and dull occationally.

Just dont choose westwood (although Brendon is nice i have to say). Eastwood or Solsbury will be fine, you wont regret either.

The only thing i dislike about westwood is that its a bit ugly, and some of the rooms dont have carpet. Apart from that its fine.

Well.. is nicer to look at than norwood, anyway:p:
Plus I have a carpet

if you dont have carpet what kind of flooring do you have - just out of curiosity lol

I think the refurbished blocks have laminate flooring, but not 100% on that.
