Ha! Sarah, how on earth did you get your kitchen so tidy. I think you should have posted a picture of the inside of your microwave. That would put ANYONE off of Sols...
Or you could have just shown them pictures of a certain flat mate...
lmao.. it was after we got threatened with fines.. we actually tidied the kitchen up for once. tbh.. I think microwaves and kitchen's will get in a mess whatever type of uni accommodation your in.
TSR was only on my laptop coz I was taking the photo's for some-one on the forum.. otherwise facebook would have been up (I'm too addicted to that.. its suprising I ever get any work done!)
I'm not sure what to do... whether or not I try and apply for Solsbury or Marlborough or just apply straight for Westwood with a "pod" I know that they are ripping out more pods by the year and having my own bathroom(ish) facilities is my priority as I'm a bit of a neat freak... So would anyone have any advice on that? I know it's particularly difficult to get what you apply for if you put Solsbury and Marlborough, but would you recommend trying for it?
Also, is it any better to apply for Marlborough, as I wouldn't mind shifting my stuff out for Easter as I travel light and my boyfriend lives close...
I applied to Solsbury and ended up with a westwood pod, quite a few people I know ended up in the same position. I think they are getting rid of 1 block's ensuites per year, so there will still be at least a couple of blocks left with ensuites. I would probally recommend you apply for Marlborough, and odds are you will end up in westwood, if you are lucky you might get in Marl..

from what i remember you select what type of room you want first... like large, standard, en suite, washbasin, etc.... so if you choose en suite youll get one if they have one.
Thanks for the advice, I'm still a little unsure what to do but will probably try for Marlborough/Solsbury, get online early, see what happens... then put Westwood pod as second choice. My boyfriend was one of those who got his second choice... at the end of the day I'm not bothered where I get put, but it would be a huge advantage to have my own bathroom space in some form
yea if you want Solsbury/Marlborough, you want to applying within the first 10 seconds. I applied within the first few minutes, was applicant number 200 or something, but still didnt get Solsbury/Marlborough.

Its not done by first come first serve basis then as on the Bath website it says there is 460 rooms available. Any idea how they work this out?
Witchcraft. Nah, No idea how they sort it out. They must have some kind of system- They try to match you up with at least 1 other person on your course, in a similar room you asked for, eg ensuite. I applied within the first few mins for sols, and got westwood, yet I heard of somone applying the next day and getting sols! You will be happy enough wherever you end up, i promise
International students also apply first if I'm right? It's not first come first serve... as I said in the other thread, I heard that someone who put Westwood as their first choice got Eastwood (she applied in the first 10 minutes) and considering most S/M rejects get into Westwood, her preference was put second to someone's cast-off They must strive to get you into one of your top three choices... but they have to match smoker/non-smoker etc.
