Basically I have no idea what Im doing and could really use some help. Some ideas I had were to compare the fat content of food or how can amino acids be obtained from food? Do you think these would be good projects? I would do iron tablets or paracetamol but I'm afraid they're too overused.

Any suggestions? This is really stressing me out.

Ignore all that crap about not doing a common investigation. Does it look better if you do something original? Yes. Will you lose any marks for a common investigation like vit c or paracetamol? Hell no. So long as your investigation is of sufficient level for AH (which the common ones are) you're fine. It's no coincidence that the best marks tend to go to the tried and tested investigations. Why? Because there are far more resources around to help you plan things out. It's a helluva lot easier to do a successful investigation when you can find well tested methods online rather than make your own one up. You're not trying to reinvent the wheel. You just want something that allows you to demonstrate your ability to analyse/evaluate experimental procedures, results, theory etc.

Ditto.. Don't make your life difficult for yourself!!!
If you don't want to do the usual cliched ones, at least go for the ones that someone has done previously!!
At least you have a reference point(not for you to plagiaries!)
