So, we've been given our essay for EU Law and I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers with regards to the prevention and restriction of free movement of persons on the grounds of public policy and public security.

The essay title is:

'With reference to EU Legislation and decisions made by the CJEU, critically analyse the extent to which Member States can restrict and prevent the Free Movement of Persons on grounds of Public Policy and Public Security'

I have explained about rights of free movement, eu citizenship and workers. Is this a going in the right direction?

Thank you!

Critique how EU countries restrict persons based on public policy and security.

Make use of EU law concerning Freedom Movement rights based on Treaties, Cases where ECJ judges cites Members states arguments for safety and perhaps economic/ other reasons. See yourself as a leader of a country and the potential damage that free movement has on your country. How safe are the persons, do they have criminal records, do they want the state to pay for everything? etc
