the entire 200 strong 6th form are crammed into one Victorian house....not impressed. However we can wear our own clothes....at least it wasn't a change from purple to yellow.

Heh yellow blazers, we'd be the joke of the country  There's only 100 or so in my sixth form, and our common room is tiny too...there's nothing in it except for a unused bookcase to make the room look more intellectual lol.

i dont like some of the stuff we have to do like wear a suit everyday and finish school at 4.00 but you get used to it and i like a lot of things about the school.... im gonna miss it when im gone.

Same here, we finish at 4pm too. But aren't most schools like that anyway?

depends, the people i know that go to comps finish at like 3.00, but i know some schools finish at 4.00. it could be worse, some private schools make you go in on saturdays. also i dont like how my school basically forces you to give up your weekend to play in the sports teams. feels like your at school all week long sometimes.

Ah but....us inventive sort from St.Michaels have got our own group website, which gets about 10 posts a day, which I set up so we (The Common Room Croo!) could all keep in touch and it has worked a treat! *smug* And also my name is not that posh as I don't have a double barreled surname (apologies to anyone who does  ) and besides I'm sure whatever follows on from 'Andy' is equally posh and hence the reason you chose not to display it  .

no.. actually by recent estimates there are 13 people with the same name as me in the UK. i chose not to display it more for the purpose of anonimity.

My mistake, obviously I have yet to learn that subtlety and as you can now see I have made amends. Acronyms anyone?

Yuh huh, serious! I was hospitalised for 5 days, and they wouldn't even discharge me to sit my Latin exams, so I had to do them in hospital.....an interesting experience indeed (made worse by the fact it was me alone with our pervy head of 6th Form, 'Steve-o', in the little room!).

No no nothing to do with anything Jackass, just our 'affectionate' name for him, better than having to say Mr Blah di blah and so on. I am recovered now, thank you for asking  E.coli is quite a nasty bacteria...well it got me!

e-coli is one of those sly bacteria that you dont know you've got for a few weeks until it makes you ill....

i just remember a few things from latin we had these books that told a story and it had charecters "quintus" and "caecilluis" (sp?) and the stories were actually alright just the translating i didnt like. did you use any of those books ??

Ah yes the bygone days of Quintus, Metella, Grumio and Caecilius! Do you know that Caecilius dies at the end of the series of books?! He was killed by Vesuvius. There would be silly sentences like 'Grumio Metellam placet.' Grumio pleases Metella, and subsequently much mirth in the classroom!

Unfortunately now I have to contend with sentences that are 6 lines long, and contain so many sub clauses that you become completely lost and end up with a bunch of nonsensical ramblings, which really is all Cicero is!

lol yeah, the basic latin did have a habit of making matella out to be a bit of a slut.

they were so harsh to the poor slave (grumio?). i remember one story when one of the charecters through a disk and it hit a statue and knocked its head off . i think it was in the roman baths. wow its all coming back to me now.

And how lucky you are to have only the memories! Curse to the deepest depths of the underworld (Ovid) whichever part of me caused me to take Latin at A Level! And Chemistry too, as that majorly sucks! Biology is the only good subject there is!

yeah i got out as soon as i could, but that was mainly due to my lack of ability than dislike for it. i dont mind my a level subjects cept economics is a bit boring sometimes. only like 2 people actually carried on latin to a level at my school.

Yes I'm one of six, but in the more stupid half of the class! 3 people (not moi! thankfully actually) are having to do the AEA in Latin.....an extra exam of 3 hrs of translating, yummy!

Ah yes, we used those books...the memories! You could tell our school was posh, because someone had grafittied "Quintus est bonus in cubiculum" on the desk.
