Ah yes, we used those books...the memories! You could tell our school was posh, because someone had grafittied "Quintus est bonus in cubiculum" on the desk.

Ah sounds similar to my school although my friends and I were infact the perpetrators of the crime when we Tipex-ed 'Eramus hic MMIII' right across the underside of one desk....we were high on Jelly Tots!

Shush no, we're really not like that  Events that occur in Latin under the influence of Jelly Tots are, I feel, far beyond control and definitely not our usual behaviour, being such upstanding and genteel young ladies  and hence not something on which we should be judged! La la la!

cant say im a fan of jelly tots, and its not latin on the desks at out school - usually just insults aimed at teachers. is it just at my school or are all latin teachers wierd ?? - one of our teachers went mental during a lesson and started throwing books around and he got forced to leave the school, it was so funny to watch...

Ooh Jelly Tots are cool.....our Latin teachers at the moment are very very nice, probably because both of them are female and under 30 so they don't seem much like teachers to us, in fact more lesson time is spent chatting generally than actually doing anthing related to Latin! We used to have a really little tiny old Latin teacher, and a really tall one with a huge nose, the former used to bounce around the classroom like a rubber ball, I was never taught by the other as he left. One of our old R.E. teachers once threw a book during a lesson, and used to frequently swear too, when she left there were all sorts of rumours like 'alcoholic' and 'sacked'.....

Damn I miss school! I think I'm actually going to enjoy going back to sit my exams just because I've not been there in a month!
just to be pedantic... should the title of this thread be "fewest number of rahs"?

Dancing in Klute? How could you dare to suggest such a thing. Everyone in durham knows that Klute is designed to restrict movement as much as possible, you are lucky to have enough room to breathe, let alone dance.

For £2.50 its a cheap way to drink beyond 11pm. I doubt it will ever be any more than that. If clubbing is your scene then to Newcastle you must go.

P.S, was in Klute Thursday Night, it was as bad as I remembered it to be. Perhaps still having my rucksack and sleeping bag with me was a mistake

Whats with the music ? Do they only have one tape from the 90's that they just stick on repeat, i must have heard the same songs 4/5 times for the couple of hours we were in there .

Whats goin on ? - Wud have thought with the student population there would be more call for night clubs !

I can remember that they played 'Rockin Robin' because I had always thought that this was a Christmas song...and well it was March and not Christmas at all really, so I got a bit befuddled, they also played some Bon Jovi, always good for a sing-a-long  hmm....that is all I have memory of, but we weren't there for longer than about 1 hour and it was cold walking back.

to be honest it really does live up to its reputation of worst club in western europe. it not even a proper club, doesnt have a proper sound system or lighting and the dance floor is a joke. your more likely to get suffocated than be able to dance properly. if your into clubbing and your going to durham you gotta be prepared to make the trip to newcastle basically. unless of course the DSU is any good... which i dunno yet. durham is good for bars/pubs but club-wise its a disgrace. lucky it more than makes up for it in other areas really.

Oh yea - Durham is amazing ever since i was at school its the only place i have wanted to go the night life is the only thing to let it down ! I went to the union on the open day, planet of sound or something, it was okay, better than klute but then again drinking vodka on a park bench would be better than that place. Still didnt played upto date music but the tunes were okay ! Shame its only on friday nights really !!!
