Finished reading F.Compo - a great series, but with an underwhelming ending like so many other series. I'm thinking of starting Otomen next.

So 7 commandments is a Netflix original anime. Binged it as I had a day off yesterday. Loved it. And have looked at the wikia and manga looks cool so will read when I have a time. Would recommend.

No worries! It's a really fun series.

I love the choice of avatar, by the way. :mmm:

Is it not too popular for you? It's pretty classic Shonen and I get the feeling you prefer the french movies of Anime .

Thanks. I happened to come across it on one of my internet trawls.

I've got nothing against popular series! Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and several others feature in my Top 50 list. :p: I just find the major shounen titles (Naruto, Bleach etc) a bit long and intimidating. If it seems like I'm only recommending obscure series, it's because I assume most fans will either already be aware of the mainstream shows, or will find out about them quickly on their own.

Oh dear about a day after I posted on here I got hit by my second cold of the year, hence vanishing again, I didn't feel much like staring at too many screens.

Decided to get some anime today- Kill me baby, Nyan Koi, No game no life and Love election and chocolate. The only one I've seen is Nyan Koi, back in the days when I kept up with new shows :mmm:

Final(?) Minamicon cosplay photos

Disappointed I only got three from that photographer this year, compared with the seven from last year... maybe it's one for each hand, and a bonus one? :p:

Get a haircut you hippie!

Oh my gosh, I knew nert from my Uni animesoc, I once gave him a spare Higurashi blind bag (ball) figure as I had duplicates :awesome:

I did, so that the wig would fit. :p: One of my few haircuts of the past year.

Nert takes the best photos. Also the only (professional) photos I've been able to find for my cosplay this year, despite there being at least two other photographers present. :hmmmm2:

I never have done cosplay, no one I like enough to overcome my shyness :awesome: Plus the last event I went to was the London MCM expo in 2009. I still really miss the 2007-2010 period when TSR was much more alive to us with anime/the virtual bar, as well as my uni time.

Plus the girls get all the cute costumes :awesome:

I also miss those levels of activity. :moon: Seemingly every day I accept new member requests, sending welcome PMs with links to this thread, and sometimes I even get replies... but so few actually post. :unimpressed: The growing number of other anime threads and their activity (including from people who don't post here) makes me wonder whether I'm doing anything wrong? :dontknow: Aside from not forcing all the old people to come back, that is. :security:

I don't know who I'll be cosplaying next, but I'm definitely thinking more 'cute' than 'caveman' (as someone in Chat called it) this time. :giggle:

I suggest a joint venture to invent a time machine.

On the subject of the past, I've been reading Mahoromatic recently. I think I may have started the first volume years ago, but I restarted this year. I think I completed buying it in 2009. I have have Love Hina to read, it's on the shelf across from me- I think I bought all of that by probably the end of my first year at Uni in 2008 :afraid:

I also ordered the last few volumes of Claymore on Friday, a series I'm sure I started collecting before University. Time is scary.

Sounds like a plan! Now that I'm more into figurines, it'd be nice to pick up some of the now-rare £300 ones back when they were newer and cheaper.

All series that I've read and enjoyed, the first two way back in my early days as a fan, but Claymore I only got on Kindle last year once the whole series was finally out. Currently one of my favourite manga series I've read.

I really don't read much manga nowadays, I have loads to read, but I can never get comfortable- my back or neck often ache or my eyes will get tired, and OCD has been a jerk when reading for a couple of years.

A while back in my fandom days I preferred manga to anime as I could get through it quicker, but now I prefer anime. Plus I normally know where I stand with anime, I've grown tired of starting or looking up a new series only to discover there's thirty plus volumes to get...

I remember a few years ago when the Internet was down limiting myself to three volumes of DBZ a night/evening so I wouldn't burn through it. When I returned to manga at the height of my bad OCD a year or two ago I could do one chapter a night before bed and it took a month to finish where I'd keep putting it off :emo:

I used to love reading.

This is one thing I've been meaning to ask- what are some of the big things to happen in recent years? I have some of Kill la kill (waiting for cheaper standard editions) am aware of One punch man and I've watched Attack on Titan. I also know the Familar of Zero author died.

Are there any major things to happen? Any big closures (I vaguely remember a studio closing) or controversies? I'm no longer completely up to date...by a few years :emo:

Manglobe was the studio that closed down. The big deaths from last year that spring to mind were Inu x Boku SS' Fujiwara Cocoa and the legendary Shigeru Mizuki. I can't think of much else that's really stuck out in my mind.

Any super big shows I should be aware of?

Anything to match Haruhi-mania? :awesome:

Talking of which, I'm sure the hare hare yukai turns a decade this year :afraid:
