Yeah, time certainly flies, especially when you're working full time. I can't believe it's been nearly a decade since I signed up to TSR and started posting...

I just go lalalalala and don't think about it

I'm thinking of trying Overwatch, likely next weekend once I get a hold of a laptop that can actually run it.

It should be easy enough to find something to run it. Though it could be a bit pricey seeing as laptops are always a bit more expensive than a desktop of the same specs. Though I have always been a person who prefers desktop PC's so I am a bit bias  . I want to upgrade mine as it's a few years old but I don't realllly need to either so I am trying to be good and hold off.

Admittedly, I haven't even played a MOBA game, so I'm not really qualified to say whether I like or dislike them. What I can say is that one of the main reasons I like Quake 3/Live is that every player has the same thing. The only thing that distinguishes a player from another is their aim, movement and decision making. This simplicity is what makes sport so popular. The moment you start adding special abilities and classes, the game starts to dictate what you can and cannot do. But hey, this is just coming from someone who has never played LOL or Dota 2, so maybe I'm completely wrong, and these features actually enhance the game play. I guess I'll find out with Overwatch.

I remember you mentioning Awesomenauts in the past. The name is hilarious.

My dislike with MOBA's is generally the toxic community that follows them. A lot of people at work play League and I have seen arguments happen because of it and bad stories about how people have been treated in matches. But gameplay wise I tend to find the ability thing adds a lot of strategy. Particularly when it comes to team composition. As Going in with 6 attacking characters can end painfully for you. But this in turn means you have to rely on other people more. This isn't bad but some people online aren't nice/ good which where the problem arises. Overwatch has this a bit less as it being a shooter it can be overpowered by just sheer ability occasionally.

Awesomenauts is pretty fun though it's changed loads recently. But it's like playing a old 90s cartoon. So silly and really cheesy.

I also finished Danganronpa (the game) and damn was it amazing. So now I need to watch the anime . Out of interest does anyone know if there are many differences between the two? Mainly out of interest as I have found anime adaptions of games always have some differences from the game. Which is fair as some game elements/ aspects don't translate to well to a show format.

can someone explain why people like jojos bizarre adventure diamonds are unbreakable (or most jojos for that matter)? the fights seem good but its story is lame

Just wanted to share my thoughts on some anime I recebtly watched
Darker than Black was really enjoyable, reminded me of psychpass. Really fun mystery type.

From the new world- this was brilliant, mystery, thriller, questioning the philosophys of characters etc. Was gripped on every episode.

I know this may be a lil outdated... but just discovered Gate : Thus the JSDF fought there (or Gate: Jieitai Kano Chi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri).

Haven't found a anime so funny but also action packed in such a while. Also quite nice to see a (almost) Harem show again, imo they have fallen out of popularity over the last 5-10 years.

Did something ive been meaning to do for a hell of a long time. I started watching Outlaw star. :mmm: Seems cool, so deliciously 90s with the hair and futuristic setting. :teeth: Been hearing that OP at anime events for a long time.:giggle:

Saw this interesting interview regarding producing anime with someone who worked on korra, and is currently working with sattelite and some gainax people on a project. http://anigamers.com/interviews/lesean-thomas-cannon-busters-saving-anime-otakon-2016

Haha, I have no doubt.

Well, the last two companies I've been at have been much larger, which made it a lot harder to post on here.

Tim Willits, the creative director and co-founder of iD, stresses that they want to make sure it's still a Quake game, first and foremost, and that fans of the franchise should not fret, despite the introduction of classes. He's even made a point of saying that it's not a MOBA game.

Yeah, Rapha also has a team, I believe. In Europe, I know Stermy is playing, but I don't think he's doing it professionally. I think Cypher is playing it too. However, from what I understand, pro players from TF2 are transitioning better than those from CS GO and Quake, but I might be wrong about that.

Yeah, Quake duel is something else when it comes to intensity. I still have the YouTube videos of you dueling :giggle:

Overwatch seems pretty quick. As I said to James, I might try it next weekend.

The only map I know from Overwatch from watching streams is that Japanese one with the cherry blossom trees. It looks pretty nice.

Hanamura.. was featued in the Dragons short. Not a map Im fond of, find it narrow with that first choke point, but its pretty.:giggle:

Yeah its got this caricature of people of the world thing going on. I actually thought the British character would be alot more irritating but she's quite fun to play as long as you dont hear. "cheers love the cavalry's here" no one talks like that

The anime is supposed to follow the game quite faithfully. Watched the series which I did like but hadnt played the game. I guess its kind of spoiled for me now?

Yeah the anime fellows it pretty closely  it even has pink blood. Which is quite annoying when watching it makes it less dramatic imo.

That would be an irony, because wouldn't they be busy with homework and studying?

:dontknow: Some students may be on holiday over the summer, hence the lack of posting here.

Once school term starts they should start watching anime again. Some will join the anime society at uni, and may start looking for recommendations and stuff :dontknow:

We'll just wait and see what happens

Can anyone think of an anime(or manga) that focuses on compensation dating? I'm doing an essay about how pop culture has influenced japan and wanted to write a paragraph or so about enjo kosai/ how entertainment encourages this. I remember reading things that contained a lot of it but can't think of what the mangas were called.

Nana, and the anime movie Colourful both touch upon the issue, though I wouldn't exactly say that these anime "encouraged" it.

Can I say I'm incredibly happy for you! It was the first anime I saw as a kid all those years ago! Still not sure it was appropriate for a kid my age, despite all the censorship on toonami! That said the other main animes on at the time was tenchi, tenchi universe and Gundam Wing.... so yeah, pretty adult for a 10 year old

Anyway Outlaw star is great! But like cowboy bebop I hate how it only lasted a single series, there were rumours of a second series for roughly 10 years after the original aired but I think we can all give up now.... it was almost like a browncoat community for a while, refusing to admit it was over :cry2:

OMG I've been trying to remember the name of this anime for a while! Also the first anime I watched on toonami, also not appropriate for my age at the time :colondollar:. Btw the opening on Outlaw Star is still the best theme song of any anime imo.

On another note, just finished Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso and the feels are definitely real.

I only remembered Outlaw Stars name about 3 years ago when I stumbled across it, was remarkably hard to do! Tenchi by comparison was remarkably easy.... seeing his name was screamed out by his Harem about once every five minutes :colonhash:

Ryoko is still my favourite character from any media!
