Which is the best out of those? And preferably short...

Sidonia would be my favourite, and the shortest (though there's also a sequel); Claymore is a close second.

No worries about bothering me, I like finding recommendations for people (and it keeps the society high up on Latest Discussions if people keep posting here :colone:)

For a nice mix of action and comedy, maybe Samurai Champloo, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi and/or Magi. Champloo would be my favourite of the three, and shortest (if you include Magi's sequel and spinoff).

There have been a lot of detective/mystery anime over the last year or so! Some of them not so good, though. I'd say Sakurako-san, Subete ga F ni Naru and Hamatora are worth a look. Avoid Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace and Mayoiga. :afraid:

Woah Woah, why avoid Ranpo Kitan?! It was a pretty good show. I'd go as far to say that Sakurako-san and Ranpo Kitan were both equally as good as one another.

Well, it's just my opinion, I'm glad you enjoyed both. :dontknow: I couldn't recommend Ranpo Kitan myself though, I felt the 'mysteries' were badly presented - horribly rushed, and with most of the evidence hidden from the viewer until super detective Akechi announced his findings, taking away the fun of letting the viewer try to work things out for themselves. The culprits were bizarrely quick to own up to their crimes too.

Sakurako-san wasn't perfect, but at least it dedicated an episode or two to each mystery, allowing for much more complexity. It was *theoretically* possible for the viewer to work out each case, as all the evidence was in full view (as far as I remember); unlikely since it'd require ridiculously in-depth knowledge of really obscure things, but it's better than feeling completely left-out like in Ranpo Kitan.
Don't forget to vote for your favourite summer anime in the end of season poll, it's looking a bit empty with only 6 votes. :tumble:
