So i've slowed down drastically on the viewings, mainly driven by my headphones getting semi-broken so it's impossible to use them for an entire episode. On the bright side it's given me a chance to try and get back into the visual novel for Clannad that I never finished. Enjoyable but looks seriously long
I'll probably finish reading Blaster Knuckle tomorrow, so does anyone have any other manga recommendations for me? As usual, the *only* things I'm fussy about is that I want a short (less than 9 volumes) series, that's not ongoing, and either available on Kindle in the UK, or completely unlicensed. Genre doesn't matter. :p:
...nobody? :moon:

I ended up reading Cinderella Boy in the end, figured I'd left Anime-Planet waiting long enough (they asked me to read and submit tags for it back in June :colondollar:) - probably one of the most boring things I've read in a long time. Surely somebody here can suggest a series or two better than that? :p:

As usual I'm useless to ask about licensing/availability, but I can make suggestions!

"Aoi" Hikaru ga Chikyuu ni Ita Koro......

Wata****achi no Shiawase na Jikan
Millennium Snow
Doubt (I think you may have read this one actually.....)
Ilegenes: Kokuyou no Kiseki
Mousou Shoujo Otaku-kei
Bonnouji
Di[e]ce
Alice 19th

Hmmmm that was harder than I thought - I seem to be reading a massive amount of ongoing /long series & large quantities of BL/doujinshi at the moment.......most of which I haven't been keeping track of on MAL....whoops

I'm definitely going to get the Clannad VN but I've got a massive backlog of other things to read first so I'm waiting for a sale for the time being.

Thanks again! After skimming through them, I'm thinking di[e]ce sounds like a good place to start. It's lacking tags on Anime-Planet as well, so that gives me something else to do.

Picked up Ajin and Boku dake ga inai Machi

Both are set to be some of the best this year!

Well, one of the perils of becoming a mother, it would seem, is the lack of any free time for myself. When I went onto maternity leave from work, I thought I was going to have more time to watch anime... How wrong I was.

So, yeah, gone are the days where I would averagely watch 30+ series in a given season, I'm now struggling to marathon through Shirobako alone (what a great show, I should have kept this one on when it was airing). But yeah, as mentioned in AJ's season preview thread, I'm planning to change all that tonight, now that Alyssa is fast asleep, by sampling as many first episodes as possible! Wish me luck!

Good luck! I look forward to finding out what you decide to keep watching.

I've watched more anime over the past three days than I have done in a long time (mostly Slayers Next and Eyeshield 21), since the 23rd of January is now a week away, and I've got a 5th milestone to reach. :p: Less than a day's worth of time needed to get there now, so I can take it easy.

Oh, you're not too far off the infamous skeleton badge. Impressive considering you've largely avoided the longer running anime. I enjoyed watching Eyeshield 21 when it aired.

In the end, I failed my mission miserably last night, only watching Boku dake ga Inai Machi/Erased, which I'm definitely keeping on, and the first episode of the Akagami no Shirayukihime sequel, which I'll be watching as I enjoyed the first season. It's highly likely that I'll be committing to Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri as well for the same reason, but I have yet to watch it. Will let you know what I think about everything else, either here or in your preview thread, but knowing me, I'll probably end liking everything for one reason or another. I've deliberately restrained myself from reading your own impressions until I've watched everything myself.

On another note, I'm glad to see that you're still posting here. Cara too. Seems like most of the regulars of old have moved on. I still chat to Keoje and Euge on Skype pretty regularly, less so recently. I also have Jehuty and Yuuki on there as well, but we rarely chat.

Edit: I should also mention the new thread! If it weren't for that feature that tells you where your friends post (or people you follow, very 'Twitter'), I wouldn't have known about this thread. So, we finally managed to get over the 10,000 post barrier. Took us long enough. It'll probably take another 5 years until the next thread. :giggle:

It's not like I've been short on other options. :p:

I'm not going anywhere, if anything I'm trying to be more active this year. Nice to have old members drop in every now and then, since I'm not really in contact with any of them outside of TSR, but I do wish they'd stay for longer.

I'm hoping the current thread won't be around anywhere near as long, it's off to a good start at least.

Very excited for Love Live! Sunshine!! which had an anime announced last week. I really like the new group Aqours. I already have their first single and have the second preordered. Quite surprised the anime came so quickly into the project but it makes sense that they'd want to capitalise on the momentum of the original. The movie sold over 200,000 Blu Rays which is insane. So I hope the new generation will be just as successful, if not more so.

Nothing in the winter season has particularly grabbed my attention so just going to try and get through a couple of older series I may have missed.

Spoilers are allowed if they're correctly spoiler tagged,

Spoiler

so it's up to you if you want to read them or not. Very rarely somebody will post something untagged, but I try and request them or the moderators to edit as quickly as possible.

Anybody know if Ajin is any good? Not a fan of the CG but apparently the story is very good.

I may check it out or just take a look at the manga.

All I've seen about it is that the subs are awful and that the CG wasn't too bad.

I think I will hold off on this one until it's clear that there are some good subs available.
