the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson are pretty decent. But once you read more than 3 it gets pretty boring due to how repetitive the plots are.

Haven't read the Alex Cross series nor have I read Maximum Ride. I've read Don't Blink and one of the Private books I think. Is it boring?

Gone Girl is an AMAZING book. Loved it so much I spent my whole night in bed reading it while drinking hot chocolate.

1. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier Haunting and atmospheric, this gothic novel is a psychological thriller classic.
2. Defending Jacobby William Landay A chilling psychological thriller about a lawyer whose 14-year-old son is accused of murder. You won't be able to put it down, and then you won't be able to get it out of your head.

I second this!

The author, Gillian Flynn, wrote two books before Gone Girl (Sharp Objects and Dark Places) which are in the same psychological thriller genre. I recommend both if you like Gone Girl.

Red Dragon and The Silence of the Lambs are both great too. Not as good as the movies but still worth reading.
