The Student Room Group
My course tutor was an LCF student. She says that it is a very snobby and elistist place to be. My mum's friend knows and works with LCF students and says that LCF think they're of a higher 'calibre' than the rest of the population.

On the other hand, I've spoken to a girl who works for Estee Lauder who's also studying at LCF, and she says it's the most amazing experience of her life.

I've just been to interview there myself, and I'm as turned off by it as physically possible. There's no way in a million years that I'd choose to study in such a competitive and up-their-own-arse/elitist atmosphere.

NB; My opinions are simply that; opinion. They're based on what I've heard and the experiences I've had. I do not wish to bad mouth any establishment, I'm only giving my truthful educated opinion.

if you think that LCF are bad you should try CSM.

I found LCF i much more relaxed atmosphere when I went for my interview. The lady who interviewed me was lovely and genuinely interested in what I had to say - she also had a bit of a bitch about CSM and put me off there completely.

I liked what I saw, and it felt right for me...

have you been to an open day there?

Hey Ive Been To Lcf A Few Times Now And Have Never Experienced Anything Like It. Unorganised Is How I Would Describe Them And Their Efforts For New Students Is Jst Awful. I Always Seem To Come Away Thinking They Jst Live On This Name (brand) They Possess. Lcf Is Like Anything To Do With Fashion, Its All About Image And Brand And Well If Ur Gonna Do Fashion Then Experiencin This Kind Of Surroundings Is Something U Need To Get Used To. I Have Been For My Interview And Got A Place And Was Again Shocked At How Unorganised It Was And How Unfriendly The People Were.. However The Tutors Where Ok Apart From One Stuck Up Lady. At This Moment In Time I Think Lcf Is For Me Unfortunatly This Brand Image They Have Is So Strong Within The Fashion Industry Gettin A Job At The End Of It Is Goin To Be So Much Easier. I Look At It Like This... Would U Accept A Job At New Look Or Channel... So Why Wouldnt U Go There ??? Xx
what course have you got a place on?

I went to an open day at LCF (John Princes St) months before my interview at Lime Grove. I wasn't impressed with the schpiel they gave out either - they sounded very uptight.
woo i have been offerd a place to study the menswear course, i really cant beleive it!!!
Congrats Troublegum.

I get what some people mean about disorganisation, but in my humble opinion, at the end of the day, when you leave uni in 3years, your employers not gonna care how organised your uni administration was are they. LCF is going to look good on your CV, and not only that, its the centre of fashion education in the UK. In my opinion, going there the opportunities will be endless. You're likely be in the company of the future stars of the fashion industry. And in this business its not about what you know, its about who you know.
