Intercollegiate Halls? Preferences?

I'm filling in the accommodation application at the minute. I've selected catered halls (ideally I'd like to be in Camden, but I'm not too bothered), and now have to rank my preferences from -

UCL Hall of Residence ( i.e. meals provided)
Intercollegiate Hall - (meals provided)
UCL Student House (i.e. self- catered)
No preference.

My problem is that, although I want catered, I'm not sure whether being in non-UCL Halls would be ideal or not. Anyone else got this problem? Are any of you at UCL, but staying, or have stayed, in intercollegiate halls? And do any of you have any idea about competition for the two catered halls?

Much thanks.

Also, sorry - any of you have any opinions on which UoL halls are best?

If ur gona stay in intercollegiate, stay in the 3 on cartwright gardens (commonwealth, canterbury and hughes parry). Canterbury is the nicest and commonwealth is the worst - and there IS a marked difference....

International Hall is nice(!) but i wouldnt advise it, there aren't many UCLites there, apparently....many from imperial and kings though.....

:ditto: I put that too. I regret it slightly as international is the most expensive of the lot. :s-smilie:

I've seen the inside of Connaught, the bar and stuff although not the actual rooms, but it looks very nice and is quite close too (5 min maybe). The bar is a great hangout too.

Hughes Parry they put UCL people on the same floor as far as I know, so don't worry about people from other unis, plus it's also a nice hall.

I don't know about commonwealth and i heard international is nice but there's lots of postgrads.

HP is nice... but do they put UCL people all on one floor? That's a shame - the mix of students from different colleges is one of the good things about intercollegiates... Photos of Connaught (and a few of some other intercollegiate halls) in the Flickr link in my signature, btw - where it says Residents' Handbook / Wikipedia / Photos).
