Hiya Guys

Just wondering on everyone's thoughts.... We're all human, and for those that follow a religon we should have a set of "rules" to go along by, but why are there "different" religions .... Since every religon believes there is only one God. Why would he divide us??

Share your thoughts, but please be respectful to everyone 😊💛

There is only one G-D. You are correct in saying that, but if you read the scriptures he is portrayed differently in each of the three religions. As a result the religions differ on personal communication / relationship with G-d, the question of divine intervention, free will, punishment and reward and of course the human nature as G-d's image.

Well yes, I think Hinduism has not been portrayed the way it should and there is no one scripture that dictates what we should do and do not. The Vedas are of utmost authority in the religon and ban idol worship, yet the majority of Hindus allow such worship.

Since you're Hindu and follow the Vedas - remember what the Rig Veda (1.164.46) says:
"Ekam Sat Vipraha Bahudha Vedanti"
"Truth/Reality is One, but the wise call It by different names"

Don't forget that the Jain religion is atheistic as are some orthodox branches of Hinduism like Sankhya philosophy which regards the Vedas as authoritative.

Yes that's right, so we are all one, we call it by "different names" but why is worship different aswell?

Mormonism, Hinduism, Serer
Mormonism derives from Christianity, and movement of the religon is by Joseph Smith (new York) during the 1820's, the religon is therefore almost "man made" however the definition of God in Mormonism may be different since they belive that Humans can become God

Hinduism is not polytheistic, as stated above the Rig Veda (1.164.46) its the same truth (the same God) with different names. There is not more than one God

Serer has numerous deities yet God is still one and is known as Roog (the creator)

I'm almost getting the picture that religon is a big mind map, where the centre is God. Then there are the main religions of which others have derived. Through cultural and communicational differences we have split ourselves and divided ourselves into believing that we're all different and that "our own faiths" are correct. It may be that God has revealed many of his revelations at different geographical locations, yet we have still not come together in agreement that who we all worship is the same.

Also just found out that the oldest religions Judaism and Hinduism were the same in the sense of Judaism being Brahminism (ancient vedic religon)

The Vedas were also one of the first revealed scriptures and the Qur'an is the last.

God's message has been shown through the times in between yet his first and last messages are given to us.

Apart from the Jews who are God's people in Judaism, what religious people are themselves as different from the rest? It's a pedantic and slight difference, but there is a gap between believing the religious believers are different to all others and believing that the religion they believe is true over others.

Some religions believe in multiple Gods and some believe in no Gods but a spiritual force that is not self aware.
