Putting in lenses..

How long does it take you?
It takes me around 1 minute, but I havent worn lenses for a while now. Now I have a new supply I'm just wondering..how long will it take me. I remember HOW to put them in, but will it take a while for me to get back into the swing of things. I last wore lenses last October.
So any tips on putting them in?

Takes me about 3 seconds.

I used to be terrible - couldn't stand anything going near my eye.

I usually pull my top lid up with one hand, and with the other hand, pull the bottom lid down with my middle finger, and insert the lense with my index finger.

Voila.

As for how long it'll take for you to get "back into the swing of things", that's not really something we can judge...I'd guess a couple of weeks at most and you'll be getting them in your eyes in a matter of seconds, but that is just a guess. The solution they come in stings quite a bit until you get used to it, but once you're over that it shouldn't take too long for you to get up to speed
Takes me only a few seconds, unless my lenses or eyes are being stupid and then it might take a bit longer.
Yeah definitely, as one gets used to doing it, it becomes much easier. Practice makes perfect!
takes me about a minute for each eye.
I have no problem going near my eyes but whenever I try and put it in it bends back and goes round my finger lol. Gotta put some in now actually...

Your applying the lens to the wrong part of your eye if it bends back or too close to your eyelid, try and keep you eyeball and eyelids still and only move the eye around once the lens is sitting on the eye, this should slip it into place, don't blink! Otherwise you'll end up with a it pinging out or going bent. It took me ages to get it right myself but once you can steady your aim and your eye and it's reflex, it should be much easier.

I found it really hard when I started (literally took me 5 mins per eye), but I speeded up pretty fast. Just make sure you keep your eyeball really still- I found that the hardest part!!
And I actually found taking them out harder...dunno why

It took me like three separate visits to Specsavers until I finally got the hang of it! They told me I was their worst ever customer as I took so long to actually get it!
Now though, 9 months later, it's fine- takes me about 1-2mins per day  I'm sure it won't take you too long to get the hang of it again! Good luck

A few seconds (literally), I've been using lenses full time for about 4 years now... and what is it with people posting threads about glasses/contact lenses anonymously recently?
A few seconds per eye - mind you, I have been wearing them for 7 years now.

I'm sure you'll get back into the swing of things pretty quickly!

Yep only takes me a couple of seconds per eye. However, when I was in the opticians at first, it was a different story! Took me 2-3 hours to get them both in first time around lol.

You should get back into it pretty quickly I'd imagine, once you get started you should get quicker and quicker at putting them in.

I'm putting it straight onto the middle of my eye, but sometimes when i press in it bends back...maybe I am blinking.

takes me 5-10secs each eye, but stings a little for a min or so afterwards

question how does everyone clean their contacts (monthly) - im lazy and having really done it for last couple of months - i have only been taking them out then putting them in the solution (sometimes not even new solution)

I don't clean them. I know, my optician says I should, but I always forget. Last few months I have just worn erm 30 days straight.
