How to show that you're interested without coming on too strong

Hi everyone,

I feel as though my life is a rollercoaster at the moment! I posted a few weeks ago about a guy I liked but now we've agreed to be friends. I still like him though  . Anyway, there's this other guy who I used to go to school with but lost contact with. We got in contact recently (about a month ago) and have been Msn-ing and texting each other quite regularly and at first it was sweet but now I think Im actually starting to like him  . I'm not sure how he feels about me though. I don't want to get ahead of myself but is there any way to let him know that I'm interested without coming on too strong or coming across desperate? I want to take things slowly and go with the flow but at the same time don't want to seem uninterested.

The odd thing is that he might not even like me in that way  . How would I know?

Thanks for your help in advance...
Hmm this is a hard one. I would probably hedge at the idea and see what he says.

hmmmm humour always works, and even if you dont get the answer you want it can be passed off as a mere fault or misunderstanding on his part

...me and my gf found out we liked each other when she jumped on top of me to spray hair mousse in my mouth...after i covered her in it.....ah good times...

Humour...well he has it in abundance:p:
I started this thread because I ALWAYS seem to read guy's signals wrong. Or maybe they are sending the right ones and I chose to ignore them...I dunno. But with him...I don't want to screw this up because he's such a nice guy (and a bit of a rebel too:p: )

Thanks for the advice!

Maybe I'll be buying some hair mousse

Did she actually spray it in your mouth? I can't imagine that stuff tasting too nice!

OP, you've said that you've been talking to this guy on MSN and texting - have you met up with him in person lately? Because it could be a lot easier to read his body language than to try and read between the lines of what he's saying online. It's so easy to hide behind words when you're on MSN or texting

Thanks Shinytoy...I've been strung too many times :s-smilie: .
He isn't with anyone as far as I know but then again he is a friendly guy all round so it's hard to tell if he's merely being friendly...

I haven't met up with him yet but he says he wants to soon. We had arranged to meet up last Friday but I couldn't go unfortunately...I'm waiting to see how we get on together because thus far it's been great

Thanks for your suggestions everyone! I think i'll just leave things as they are for now and see what happens. For the time being I think exams is going to get in the way since we're both doing finals...

Thanks again
