Nope, everyone gets them.

Probably does bother them, but remember spots are not permanent. You are 18 so might not have them fro much longer. That said, I'm 19 and still get them. Some antibiotic begining with 'E' from the doctor makes them all go within a week, and I mean gone.
If they bother you that much go to the doc and get some pills.

Edit - Erythromycin
I'm 18 and whilst I used to suffer from spots when I was younger, quite badly on my chest and upper back, which was really annoying! However, now they have cleared up and my skin looks pretty good ( even if I do say so myself!).

My boyfriend on the other hand feels he suffers badly with spots, and ok he has a afew, but to be honest I have never really noticed and am not too fussed anyway, I still think he looks great! I would say that most girls really arn't that bothered, I mean we have enough trouble with our own body hang ups! Anyway, girls who choose boys based purely on their looks really arn't worth anyones time. And I agree that if they are becomig major problem then your doctor will probably refer you to a dermotologist, otherwise just look after your skin and I'd personally recommend eating plenty of fruit and veg.

Any particular fruit and veg?

I don't get too many spots, but I use that clearasil face wash and cleansing pads which seem to dry out my skin, so I use moisturiser but that blocks my pours and causes spots, lol.

I don't have a problem with dry skin really, if I leave my face in the morning, after using the clearasil, a few hours my face is fine, no dry skin. I guess I'm washing the natural oils away.

The doc says I'd have to live with it, I don't agree with that. Do you know what fruit and veg can lead to healthier skin? I eat quiet a bit already, I just wondered if you knew.

Hi, I'm a 18-year old guy who does not have a lot of spots, but one or two, and when they appear, they appear! At the moment I feel like I have got Mount St. Helens on the side of my face - it needs its own postcode!
I do not have a girl-friend atm, just left a long-term relationship, and I was just wondering if it really bothers girls that much!?

Cheers.

I'd so rep you for that post!
And about girls. News flash: females get spots too! SO if she judges you on a spot on your face she is just a hypocrite who isn't worth your time. I really don't mind..but I don't like it when peoples faces are covered in acne and it is yucky to touch.

Spots go away eventually, it's not a big deal. It's not the most attractive sight in the world, but everyone gets them so it shouldn't bother people. If it does, clearly not worth it

I have very clear skin, I don't suffer from a lot of spots but when I get one, it's huge! It doesn't bother me having them and it certainly doesn't bother me when other people have them. My boyfriend has quite bad skin at times, though so does most of the men in his family. He has such a terrible time, going back and forth to the doctors. I consider myself fairly lucky to be honest.

I think when you're younger, getting spots seems like the end of the world, though as you get older you continue to dislike them, you grow up a bit and realise that it's just part of life. You learn to see past people's skin, your skin and realise that it really doesn't matter. You still get the odd person who is incredibly mean but most people mature and stop seeing them as more of an inconvenience rather than something absolutely terrible.

my skin is one of the worst to be honest... when i was small i had chappy skin which dries up oh so easily... so i never left home at morning without lotion. Now ive got spots.. its like the rocky roads how i wish it was a desert  although i dont get bothered with it that much even though ive got quite a bad one because a lot other people are more unfortunate than me having spots. Although getting rid of it is still one of those things i wanna do... (but my appointment was cancelled because of exams and now i have to wait till summer - which is a good thing i think, i can get enough rest at the same time and should help with the healing process)

I know spots aren't that big a deal but I used to get them all the time. It made me really self-conscious and DEPRESSED. I've managed to get rid of them now. If you can't get rid of them and you need a quick fix, go to the GP and get Oxytetracycline. Otherwise, I get this Japanese stuff called Acne Getaway
I had a boyfriend with really bad acne and can honestly say it didn't bother me even a little bit, and I really care what I look like!!

Newsflash - if you have spots regularly it probably has nothing to do with your diet -so eating lots of fruit and veg will probably do nothing whatsoever for your skin. I had to take Roaccutane after none of the anti-biotics worked (well logically all they do is kill the bacteria and leave your sebacious glands exactly the same ... so you come off the antibiotics and the spots come back!)... Now i have a few 3 years after coming off the Roaccutane - but i'm leaving it at that as it hardly bothers me.. I just use benzomycin gel once a day and it keeps them under control (well in fact at the moment it's bloody difficult to get a hold of - so I'm using Duac.. not as good though)

I don't mind one or two, but I could not put my cheek against one that's covered in huge pus-oozing spots. That may sound mean, but it would literally make me throw up. A few can easily be ignored though.
