Can you drop BTEC ICT Level 3 after the first year?

I'm taking this course with 3 other AS Levels currently and am finding that this subject is extremely tedious for me. I'm really hating it and only chose it in the first place as a relaxation subject after having taking a language for A level as well as Geography and Product Design.

I've read other posts but they never really found a definitive answer. I've heard somewhere that completing 3 units may enable you to drop it in the second year with a different qualification. But I have also heard that you don't get anything unless you complete the entirety of the course (I definitely don't want to do that).

So the question is...
Does anyone know if after the first year, I can drop this course and collect the points for just the AS level portion?

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you’ve posted in the right place? Posting in the specific Study Help forum should help get responses.

I'm going to quote in Tank Girl now so she can move your thread to the right place if it's needed. :h: :yy:

If you complete 3 units you will recieve a BTEC Level 3 Certificate in IT which is equivalent to one AS level, if you decide to take the second year and do a further 3 units you will effecively top up the Certificate into a Subsidiary diploma (6units) which is equivalent to one A level

Hope this helps
