nail falling off

Ok, so I got my nail caught in a car door over two months ago. From the side, my nail is completely detached from the nail bed. Should I cut it off in pieces or just let it fall off naturally? I don't want a wonky nail growing underneath it!

is there blood trapped under the nail? or is the skin under neith torn at all?
trim it down if theres a risk of it catching and getting in the way. you should keep it exposed to the air as much as possible but cover if theres a chance dirt could get in. and ensure the area is kept clean and keep an eye on it for signs of infection

It's absolutely vile! 3/4 of the nail has blood trapped underneath. I've just trimmed it now since it keeps on catching on everything. The skin underneath doesn't look torn, just a little bumpy.
