I am studying Othello and The Great Gatsby for my course and I have a mock exam in January but have no idea what I am supposed to do.
I have been given questions by my teacher that are the style of the ones we could get but not past questions. I have never seen a model answer so I don't know how many points to make, how much I am expected to do in the hour etc. Any tips or model essay answers would be great! thank you)

Same! This is the hardest A Level I've taken and am not liking it at all. To understand the story and some themes I've been using LitCharts
In Othello, the questions (I think) are always passage based where there's a passage from the play and then the question is like Explore the aspects of tragedy in this scene so that's where the bullet points come in handy. In Gatsby, we have the book in the exam so its a little easier in some aspects but hard because I think the questions are more broad and across the whole novel but again it comes down to themes and the aspects of tragedy bullet points.
Hope those links have helped you! Good luck to both of us!
Thank you so much! I will check out LitCharts now Also if you haven't already got them, I highly recommend buying sparksnotes books for both Othello and Gatsby, they're really useful.
