Im not sure... does anyone know about the rules on visitors, by b/f is going to bristol, I was wondering if you are allowed to have visitors to stay. I can't find any info on it anywhere. Cheers!

i wondered the same thing as my boyfriend just finishing uni this year and will come and visit if i hopefully go next year....if anyone finds out please tell us

I think that they are allowed, its just that they would need to pay to stay somewhere. You can always just sneak them in also, I stayed at my girlfriends in Bristol a few times, also for my interview, without them knowing hehe.

I know at lots of unis you are allowed visitors to stay overnight in your room... i hope this is the case here. Doubt he could afford to stay somewhere seperate! Any ideas how we could find out???
You can have people to stay, i know of some ppl who have their boyfriends down a lot, but as i don't live in the halls, i cannot say for certain. Take it as a provisional yes.

haha thank you - and we'll all blame you if we get into trouble lol im sure we'll be allowed!
As an Ex-RVC student (don't ask...long story:frown: ) NO you are not allowed people to stay officially (it's in your contract..well it was when i was there:confused: )

...however i had my b/f and mates down to stay with me more than a few times and some of my flatmate's even had their parents stay overnight!
So it is easily done in college grove! (sorry no idea about mary B)
(just don't let anyone official know:p: )

Best of luck!

I know some unis are ok about it. My bf is at Warwick and I stayed with him a couple of times and the uni were fine as long as I was registered as being in the building for fire regulations etc.

I want to email them as I have some other questions about accommodation... not sure who to contact, general undergraduate enquiries would you say?

lol just the same as everyone else then.
How come nobodies putting intercollegiates as second! That's what I'm doing - Mary B is a complete rip off
Reply 15
yeh but intercollegiates sound so isolated and basic
Reply 16
nd i wanna be in self catering, i wud hate to have to go to a cafeteria to get all my food. what if i want to cook or bake at midnight?! which i often do wen i cnt sleep.
The problem with the interollegiate halls is that you are very isolated from the vet students and catered halls aren't all they are cracked up to be as it doesn't accomadate the funny hours vets do and also your kitchen facilities are very basic if you did want to cook something yourself
Reply 18
And also you never know if the food is to your liking so you may end up shopping for other food because you dont like the cooked food
Reply 19
i say go intercollegiate because vets will bore the pants off you!! haha. well not really, sometimes it might get a bit much tho. y the love for college grove!!! its a pile of poop, mary b is more expensive but its also a lot more sociable and fun. :P
