Does my ex want me back?

My (ex) bf broke up with me about 6 weeks ago. About a week after, he said he regretted splitting up with me. A fornight later, he was going to ask me back out, but due to something which happened, we didn't.

Anyway, when we were going out, we both wrote letters to each other, saying about how much we felt about each other etc. We didn't get chance to give them to each other before we broke up, so ended up giving them after. I only got mine about a week ago, but he didn't come into college for a few days after. When i asked him why, he said it was because I had said us being around each other would make things more difficult to move on, but now he wants to spend some time with me on monday. He said that not coming into college for a few days has helped him, and its helped me too, but its like one minute he doesn't want to be near me for both our sakes, then the next he wants to be spending time with me. I'm confused. Am i looking at this in the totally wrong way, or do you think he wants me back?

he wants both and hasnt properly decided yet by the sounds of things. talk to him and say you dont appreciate being messed around, and that you need him to make a decision and stick to it or both of you are going to get more hurt than you need to.

So you believe that my ex isn't completely sure what he wants, rather then he wants to be friends with me and is making the effort to keep in contact?

My ex wants me back, I just keep trying to help her get over me, but I don't think its working. I want her as a friend still, but she's still in love with me, even though she ended it. i got 3 SMS text t'other day about how she wished she'd never ended it etc. She's finding it hard to move on, clearly.
