NYU Stern is well respected and I'm sure London banks will be aware of that. They all have New York offices and plenty of US staff in their London offices so I doubt there'd be much of a problem. When I interview in London, they all knew Wharton straight away even though not one of my interviewers was American or had studied there. People talk and I'm sure it would come up.

NYU has an awesome location as well, and you're perfectly located for NY internships (NYU halls are in huge demand every summer), so why not just stay out there in the summers and post-grad?

most of the big companies have headquarters in different countries. they are very international and different headquarters co-operate with each other a lot. Stern would have a very good rep in UK>

Well Wharton's a slightly different story isn't it, concerning itnernational reputation?

As for internships, would I have a problem getting on them in NY because I would only be there on a student visa?

By the way I'm not there yet, I just want to know what I would be getting myself in for if I go.

Staying there after grad....well most friends and family are here, although staying there may be an option, I just wanted to know what my situation would be if I wanted to come back. That is if I even go in the first place.

Also I've been trying to find out, and now I know you studied in the US maybe you might know - apparently NYU are horribly stingy with giving financial aid to foreigners...how true is that?

If you dont mind me asknig your opinion, if, say, I was good enough for Wharton without financial aid, do you think I'd be good enough for NYU with financial aid?

thanks

If you're going full-time to study abroad, you'll have no problems with Visas. And I'd advise working in the US if you're a student there. The recruitment from NY is heavy at the top east-coast schools and obviously at NYU Stern (what with its location). You'll have a well-trodden path onto Wall Street, whereas London will be a lot of hassle (although it is possible, I did it this year).

Stern is a target in the NY offices - not sure how that will translate into London - but you'd be much better off with a UK target school if you want London.
