Get rid of the idea of this abstract thing that is "motivation". You either do or don't do. Maybe tell yourself you want to do, rather than you have to do. But don't rely on "motivation" as it's unlikely to come or to last long if it does.

Exactly, its good habits that get work done, not motivation

You don't go on a notoriously addictive forum and start a conversation.

You literally just sit down and work. Don't overthink it, else you'll tire yourself out imagining working more than actually working would do

Don't read past this post. Just turn your internet off and start what needs doing

I'm in a similar situation: I still need to write a personal statement for UCAS by 15th Jan, but haven't done it yet

So annoyed that the course I want to study doesn't have unis that are that prestigious. But, I have to get over it and face the reality like ASAP.

Lesson learnt: face the reality of it, and do not delude yourself into thinking that what you need to do is not important and do not undermine how long it may take or how much it could improve your life even just by a bit.
