On a league table, however cambridge's long term maths reputation is worldwide. After that I'd say warwick.

Nah, maths at cam is generally amazing Cam and Warwick want STEP with their offers, so it's harder to get in. Not sure about oxon.

Cambridge's entry requirements for maths are probably the hardest for any undergrad degree in the world I'd imagine? (*waits to be corrected*). It certainly isn't just trinity who are good at maths, the entire university enjoys an exceptional standard of mathematicians and teaching. Though Bath is also really hot stuff.

I've chosen Warwick as my insurance. Warwick seem to really stress the same things which cambridge do for good mathematics, which is why they ask for STEP I guess. Though apparently Warwick's reputation relies almost entirely on its research.

I'd like to know why Oxford is in there...

I was say the best is Cambridge, followed by Bath.

I don't think there is a debate about the best uni for maths, Cambridge has all the best mathematicians in the country. Apart from that, as far as I am aware Bath, Warwick, Imperial, Oxford, ... are all pretty good.

    Why shouldnt it be there?

I think Oxford is only second to Cambridge when it comes to Maths.

I don't think so. Oxford is preceded by it's reputation, it is very very good for some subjects such as law and english, but for maths it falls behind bath and warwick in purely academic terms.

I'd disagree, having seen the maths department in actions, I don't think it would be anywhere near Cambridge, Warwick or Bath in term of quality of teaching and research. It might squeeze into the top 10, but nothing more.
