Surely a working class white male is considerably less privileged than a middle-class white Feminist?

Not only are right-wingers attacking lower-class white males for being thugs and lazy, but left-wing middle-class Feminists are too. Disgusting.

But clearly the men have privilege and power by virtue of their gender and race. They don't need money, they can still oppress people.

Well, that was fun to write. On a serious note, class doesn't equal poor. Look at Alan Sugar, who considers himself working class.

I think now in the UK women and men are pretty equal, and feminism should focus trying to achieve equality in places like the middle east

Yes, I would agree.

I despair when white middle-class female Cambridge students complain about how disadvantaged they are because of their gender, and how "privileged" men are.

It's because the patriarchy is systematically oppressing all women (and also all gays, blacks and transsexuals just for good measure) and it's every man's fault. Also if you don't agree then you're a sexist.

Yeah. Among under 30s in particular women are quite clearly the privileged group.

Sugar isn't poor anymore. And most working classes are not all Alan Sugars. Try again.

White middle-class women have FAR more power than white working class men.

Class separates more than gender does.

The last thing we need are white Middle-Class Oxbridge educated Feminists degrading white working classes. They're no different to Tories!

Because the people who hold the greatest power in the society we have most exposure to (i.e the West) are most obviously and easily categorized as White Men. The privileges and powers that these people have are then seen to be a part of anyone who shares these obvious physical trait, regardless of whether they actually benefit.

If you think this sounds racist and sexist, you would be right.

u wot m8?

Right wingers arent attacking lower-class white males at all. In fact, most right wingers are lower-class white males. In fact, you sound like a right winger yourself, and I'm assuming you're a lower-class white male.

Since white men have created the social hierarchy across the world, and are the ones at the top of this hierarchy, a hierarchy that penalises every one that isnt white and male, it makes perfect sense they are the ones under attack.

yes, people like that are a joke, but the point they are getting at is still a valid one.

Inequality based on race or gender should not be tolerated.

Third waves feminists enjoy putting the blame on males in general for their failures.
If they messed up they can always say an imaginary system was made by the white male that caused their failure. Makes sense to me. And when did being a white and straight male become a bad thing? Most third waves feminists are white and straight. So basically they hate their male selves?Never really got that.

White male privilege is rife in this country. Women are 3rd class citizens.

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to just make **** up and force people to defend themselves? I don't know to what extent you identify as progressive, or as a classic liberal, or a socialist, or whatever, but for me progressivism is the real privilege. 'Facts are for jerks and selfish people, logic is blasphemous, feelings are truth!'

They just make imaginary **** up all the time - 'women are discriminated again', ' black people are discriminated against', 'white man shot black man - systemic discrimination amongst 320 million people', 'white people are privileged', 'we live in a rape culture' - throw some anecdotal evidence together, wrap it up in a nice, appealing bow and millions of morons buy it. Ironically, the people buying the mythology are typically atheists.

Nor does it fail to make me laugh watching £100k per year journalists, or millionaire actresses, going to the UN to talk about 'female empowerment' or average wage statistics.

I can't even answer that. The fact I can spew hatred about white male privilege on 100+ posts now and still receive no warning represents everything wrong with society

If you are looking at it PURELY in terms of race and sex, a white man would be the most privileged becuase they aren't the victims of sexism or racism.

When you bring CLASS into that equation, a middle class poc woman is more privileged than the lower class white man in terms of class only, but that does not change the fact than the white man is more privileged in the terms of sexism and racism.

Privilege is not a blanket thing. An individual can be privileged in one area and a victim in another.

Can you explain exactly how. In what way are women 3rd class citizens?

Is it because they have all the same rights as men?
Is it because women-specific hygiene products get VAT breaks but male ones do not?
Is it because women out number men in higher education, but still have access to exclusive scholarships?
