If they are against something (or for) now however back when their party was in power they did not care about that issue.

- That's how you notice if my MP is lying.

They open their mouth.

Or their name is David Cameron, George Osborne, Eric Pickles, Theresa May, Ian Duncan Smith, Michael Gove, Jeremy Hunt or any other Tory mp.

Sounds quite biased if you ask me. Not like the last time Labour were in power, they were honest people. Remember the Iraq war? Labour and Conservatives are the same and if you can't see that, then you need to quit politics forever.

Yes because the only lying MPs are the Conservatives.

Grow up.

Nigel Farage *always* says 'Look'. Jezza now does the same. To be honest I think it's just what they say when theyre being asked questions that are awkward for them to answer and so they try and explain things in a way that help them get their point across without letting the interviewer catch them out. In general politicians are economical with the truth though - they're gonna downplay / try to re-frame anything that reflects badly on them, of course.

Personally I am finding the Labour reshuffle the most boring slice of revenge porn I've ever watched.
If their lips are moving, they're lying.

I happen to dislike those particularly MPs intensely.

Politicians (in this country) don't really lie.

When a politician is caught maliciously lying, there is usually a fairly big scandal. For example, when the Blairs lied over their connection to a dodgy conman.

Politicians are incredible guilty, however, of giving total non-answers when asked questions of interest to the public.

Is this entirely the fault of the politicians themselves? Probably not.

The media are constantly looking for the next political row, cabinet split, scandal, e.t.c. That's partly why whips and strategists in the parties are so focused on enforcing 'message discipline' among their MPs - they all need to stick to the same narrative and soundbites (e.g. 'Our Long Term Plan For the Economy' from the Tories).

When considering the combined pressure from the media and party leaders, MPs aren't ever really free to speak their mind.

However, I genuinely don't believe the majority of MPs are liers. Most of them went into politics for good reasons and have good intentions.

Blair used to do the "look" thing all the time. It tended to be when he got pissed off with whoever he was talking to and was usually followed with a fairly frank statement.
