Tiredness, anyone else feel as exhausted as I do?

Hi,

I just wondered if anyone else feels as tired as I do.
I really should be doing some revision but I am absolutely shattered...so I am torn between going to bed for a couple of hours now and doing some revision around 9.

I keep having this, its like a barely can keep my eyes open during the day let alone in the evening....

So, 2 questions really
Anyone else feel the same? (lol this will probably be a yes)
and 2) How can you overcome it (stpuid question<thought I would ask it anyway...lol)

....I really dont want to mess my academic work up but I just feel really tired, even after the weekend (and I didnt even go out!!)

Thanks....

itl just be the stress of exams and that coming up everyone tends to get like this.

True,
I have had a LOT of other things going on alongside work too...

Its not even because I cant be bothered I want to do the work
Its getting somewhat silly now, even Lucozade and red bull is not helping....lol

I think its also because my lessons today have been from 8.30 am to 5.45 pm <we have a really long day....Im hoping its just fleeting tiredness that will subside so that i can get on with the serious business of revision < that i desperately need to do....

I'm usually so so tired in the day too! I don't know why, maybe it's because I'm so lazy

Take a half an hour nap...that usually sorts me out anyway.

Yes I know exactly how you feel, lately I've been feeling extremely tired, constantly yawning in class even though I've been sleeping 9 hours-10 hours max. I don't know the exact reason for the tiredness but in my case it's do with anemia. I'm assuming it may also be to with A-level exam's coming up, and stress can be a major factor in this. I would recommend you to go and have a blood test as you might have some vitamin deficiency such as iron.

Absolutely. I started back school today after Easter and I literally felt like I'd close my eyes to go to sleep and opened them again and it was time to get up! :frown: I have soo much work to do and being this tired really doesn't help. I generally find it's when I don't get enough sleep though. Just make sure you get to bed early and eat enough, 'cos otherwise you'll feel cranky and weak, which you can't be doing with when there's so many exams around the corner!

i feel a little tired but i think its due to poor motivation i have exams in less than 3 weeks!!!

^ yes once again true  lol

I cant decide whether to revise now, or go and get an hours sleep and try again then.....honestly its a right dilemma!

I think I am too motivated thats my problem, spend too much time worrying that i am not revising....I could put that time to good use for the goddam revision itself!!!lol

Coffee? I'd try and eat something which raises blood sugar so you can do some work now, then get so sleep early. Just do whichever piece is more important, then get some rest nice and early and you'll probably feel much better in the morning. It works for me - I always stay up really late most of the time and eventually it catches up with me and I have to sleep early for a while :p:

I am exactly the same....spacecowgirl 89 go to sleep late then it catches up with me.

I just ate a "boost" bar I think its helping I might have a coffee , although at this rate I'll be hyper as opposed to ready for some work!!!

x Sara x posted about anaemia.....actually thats a good point. I have had heart problems for sometime maybe thats not helping...but tbh I do think it is the exams that are looming although I still have a good 6 weeks to revise for them< putting too much pressure on myself....etc

Also I find the more I sleep, the more I want to sleep!

Same here, no matter how much I sleep, I still feel absolutely knackered.

I've got Bio coursework and a load of coursework, but I really can't be bothered.

Same situation here - DAMN BIOLOGY!!! I hate to write up this freakin' planning exercise asap and I hate practicals - let alone planning one! :frown: I know how you feel Saskia - I want more sleep the more I sleep - but just get to bed earlier - if you're finding it hard sleeping I'd read a book, that puts me straight to sleep, I feel realllllllly sleepy when I read for a while.

yes -- soo tired now - my energy is just being drained away!
I have about 6 deadlines in the space of 2 weeks!! -- aaaaahhhh this is crunch time at uni---

how to overcome it? - I made a timetable for the next month - everyday I know what I am doing so that I am up to date and are finished about 2 days before the assignment is due in so that I can proof-read and print

I handed Bio cwk in on Friday
But I have a pile of History, Chemistry and English revision.
I think Im going to take a nap then have ago at revision then...I really need to make some kind of tangeable/significant start lol.

Going back to the sleeping, Ive identified a possible cause. I go to a boarding school along with a load of other people. And it is indeed these very people who insist on slamming doors after they have got up to use the toilet at 3am...and people walking up and down corridors at obscene hours in the morning, it can be more than annoying ....haha  (not that I ever do ANY of these things !!!)
I'm always knackered. Sometimes I'm forced to take a nap for a couple of hours during the afternoon. Other times I don't get chance and I end up falling asleep in lectures - literally falling asleep - this happens quite often actually.

^ ditto exactly the same.
Speaking of which I am going to get some sleep now and then pull an all nighter to get all my work done that I need to for tomorrow!

ps XenaGlamRocker Congrats

I'm getting the same. It's terrible, isn't it? It's stress. I have a piece of coursework due soon and it's stressing me, and I know I have to do it, but I'm too tired.

So I can't offer any advice, but at least you know you're not alone, OP!

I forgot to point out Saskia something that might be useful, I went to see my GP a couple of months ago because of my "tiredness" and he pointed out that if you sleep more then your body becomes hibernated, I didn't really understand this at first, but it kind of makes sense now. So try sleeping less and maybe you might see a difference.
