Does it seem to be all girls posting on this thread!?

I'm exactly the same, napping all the time. The first week of Easter I just crashed for a week but its made little to no difference. Going to the doctor tomorrow because my parents think I'm a freak cos I'm freezing and shattered all the time. I'll let you all know the verdict!

Gosh, it's not just me then. I've felt constantly exhausted since we've been back after Easter.

You know when you have flu and you feel really drousy tiredness? Well I've just felt like that all the way through the school day, everyday, so I can't absorb anything (not that we're doing much anyway!) When I get in it's just a constant battle not to fall asleep because naps leave me feeling worse and I'm worried I won't be able to sleep that night.

Last night I fell sleep twice after I got in from school and went to bed at 9.30 and I hardly feel much more alert today. That might have been because I've been too tired to do any work at all when I get in from school but did two geography quetsions yesterday, so they totally knackard me.

I want to do to bed now but my brother has been in the bath for about an hour so I can't clean my teeth, and my dad was getting ready for work before that.

Was gagging for our day off on Friday so I could have a lie in, but now I have to go in for chemistry :frown:

I've had this for about 18 months now. I always feel guilty, yawning in lessons as if I'm not interested. But I am, and I can't help it! I've had blood tests and they've all come back normal, so they're now referring me to a "specialist" (in what, tiredness? lol!) Heaven knows when I'll get an appointment.

Oh I can totally identify with all you tired people out there.
A-Levels start in a few weeks and im so shattered - can barely stay awake during the day and really can't get up in the morning. I could just sleep all the time and even when I do sleep, it never seems to make me less tired.
Though I admit there's a fair bit of stress in my life atm besides exams.

They need to create a medicine that your doctor can give you - when tired, take one tea-spoonful, symptoms should disappear in 2-4- hours. lol.

I used to have this problem when I was younger. I kinda solved it by sleeping on average 6 hours a day and not going back to sleep when I wake up in the morning. When you wake up excerise and have a healthy breakfast as well as a coffee and you will be sorted.

Yes, I'm sure all we need to do is sleep six hours a day and we will be "sorted."

Feeling tired all the time is kind of disease.

Reply 47

It is called Chronic fatigue syndrome

Right, had blood tests at the doctors yet, so waiting for those to come back. She said it could be an over active thyroid, but that coupled with the coldness symptom. Still shattered though!

i feel like that much of the time, but i'm pretty sure it's down to the fact that i don't exercise.. like, ever.

Saskia-
Hi,

I just wondered if anyone else feels as tired as I do.
I really should be doing some revision but I am absolutely shattered...so I am torn between going to bed for a couple of hours now and doing some revision around 9.

I keep having this, its like a barely can keep my eyes open during the day let alone in the evening....

So, 2 questions really
Anyone else feel the same? (lol this will probably be a yes)
and 2) How can you overcome it (stpuid question<thought I would ask it anyway...lol)

....I really dont want to mess my academic work up but I just feel really tired, even after the weekend (and I didnt even go out!!)

Thanks....

you bet! I'm so tired! Even though I get 10+ hours of sleep, I get really tired at around this time. I haven't even washed today because I'm so tired lol.

First of all if you can read properly I included I was giving suggestions (and a few others) which the OP can try to get rid of her exhaustion. Secondly where did I say 'you all' need to do it? Dunno why so have to go all sarcastic about it unless you are too lazy or weak to sleep 5/6 hours a day in the long term. Muppet.

Chronic fatigue is a serious medical problem. If all that was needed to cure it is to sleep fewer hours, then don't you think we would have heard about it already? Why do people spends years suffering and go to several different doctors, if all that is needed is to wake up earlier?

I think you'll find that most people with chronic fatigue sydrome are too TIRED to sleep for only 5/6 hours a day. But hey, I'm sure we're just lazy.

What you're saying is akin to telling an anorexic person, "Just eat more, and you'll be sorted!"

Excuse me but where did the OP say that she has chronic fatigue syndrome? This is what the OP said:

I am exactly the same....spacecowgirl 89 go to sleep late then it catches up with me.

Also I find the more I sleep, the more I want to sleep!

My post is just some suggestions from me to help with her tiredness which is not trying give a cure or something to CFS. So don't bother trying to change the arguement into this accusing me saying all people whom have CFS sleep too little.

I have two suggestions:

Exercise.

&

Modafinil.

I'm absolutely exhausted at the mminute, and I think it might be partly due to the lack of routine I have at the minute! No uni classes, as I just have one more piece of coursework to hand in and then some exams, and no job either!
