'A born-again Christian pastor who denounced islam as “heathen”, “satanic” and a “doctrine spawned in hell” has been cleared after a three-day trial on charges under the Communications Act.'

While the man is clearly mental (like most who 'believe') This is an important result and the right decision.

Long live Freedom of Speech

Good.
i'm surprised that followers of the Religion Of Peace (tm)(c) didn't come there as a old, good mob and try to intimidate the court.

It'd be a sad day when criticism of an ideology is seen as a criminal act. I'm glad he got cleared.

You should lobby to get him institutionalised!

Long live institutionalised racism!
Eh, Islam isn't a race.

I mean, I think both Islam and Christianity tend to have devotees that lean towards the mouthbreather scale of human existence, but even so, this point can't be ignored.

Yeah, I agree, if people start getting prosecuted for saying what's on their mind, only idiots would be left to rule........ wait a second......

You can still be peaceful and criticise the ideology that someone believes in.
Granted he went about it using rather excessive language, but he wasn't promoting violence towards those that believe in a different deity to he.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy.
If the tables were turned and an imam (Muslim leader) said that about Christianity, everyone on here would be posting 'religion of peace' sarcastically rather than 'freedom of speech'.

I thought he said something that was peaceful but undoubtedly was harsh criticism.

Seeing as he didn't advocate violence against Muslims I don't see why a case was brought against him.
