Basically due to working full time etc, I plan to take a degree in English Literature with the plan of taking a PGCE in English at a normal university, What would be my chances with an OU degree compared to that of a 'normal' graduate that went to University?

Your chances will be the same as any other graduate. An OU degree is no barrier to doing a PGCE.
