Slightly off topic but I've always wanted to know this...
Why do you have to be 18 to buy nicotine patches?

It's rather ironic really, 16 to start, 2 years to get addicted and THEN you can buy nicotine patches.

It sounds like you're having an allergic reaction to something in the patch. Take it off just to be safe.

I think its because nicotine patches can be used as a drug  Apparently if you place the nicotine patch over your heart you get a *buzz* of it. But it can do some serious damage to your heart! But dont take that as gospel because its just wot ive heard :s-smilie: So maybe a pointless post

I'd take it off and go see your doc. He'll know what to give you that won't give a reaction.

I got a rash with the contraceptive patch :s-smilie:
It's possible you have a sensitivity to the adhesive, or maybe the latex or something?

I tried the gum once, but I tried the strongest one (designed for the most addicted) and it burnt my mouth and throat, I just couldn't stand the prickling at all!

Smoke the patch instead?

I left it on, because I'd forgotten about this thread, and the pain has gone away now, so I suppose things are fine with it.

Thanks anyway.
It's God's way of punishing you for your heathen addiction! :p:
No it's very normal for this to happen the first time you wear one, especially within the first hour. If it comes back again or persists then you have a problem.
it's probebly your skin tissue getting used to the drug and taking effect.

however it shouldn't normally burn. if it happens again, i suggest you see your GP
