I have been asked by many regular users to share some of my older papers, so in this thread I decided to upload 4 papers from my "secret stash" (usually reserved for personal use)
  • 1955 paper 1 (Straight Maths)
  • 1956 paper 1 (Straight Maths)
  • 1956 paper 2 (Further Maths)
  • 1956 paper 1 (Scholarship Paper)

Thanks for these.

My impression is that the normal maths papers are in a completely different league to today's papers, but the scholarship paper is slightly easier than say AEA. I've only looked at a couple of the scholarship questions in detail so would welcome other thoughts.

This is probably about the same level as an A2 further paper.

This is just normal A-level maths right?

Is the answer for Q1, Paper 1, 1955

 \dfrac{-2}{\beta} and  \dfrac{-2}{\alpha}

Not sure if I'm correct, felt more like a STEP 1 question than a A-Level question to me. I'll attempt some more tomorrow.

I think I got the sign wrong maybe. It's a decent question, I would say give it a go when you have time.

It's rude to ask a cat his age.
