Should i report my family

I warn you in advance this is going to be long and complicated.

The problem i am having is that i am unsure whether to report my family for fraud.

This is not a simple fraud like benefits. Its a worldwide scam.

It all started a few years ago when my auncle got caught and got sent down for 5 years. Ever since my dads brothers have started to be very careful and they have started to use my dads knowledge and contacts to make sure they never get caught.

I am scared that when/If they get caught that my dad will get sent down.

I am very grateful for the lifestyle that i have got dont get me wrong but my mum cry's everyday as she isnt sure how long we have left together. I have tried asking my brother should we tell the police but he tells me to leave it alone.

What should i do???

telling the police will just get your dad sent to prison even sooner. I would say don't get involved. You don't want your whole family hating you. And don't ask for details or more information because you don't want to know too much.
don't be a grass!
Well, if you don't want the family spilt up, it seems illogical to tell the police as this will possibly lead to your dad going to jail pretty quick. Also, you should consider the implications on your family relationships if your dad found out it was his child who contacted the police. So in short, it appears that telling the police (whilst definately the more moral option) would result in the assured destruction of your family life.

Well if it does come out and people find out you knew and didn't do anything then you're going to be in trouble as well.

Well, imagine if your family was the one being ripped off. I think then that you'd quite rightly want justice. So why is it a different scenario just because it's your dad? Sorry, but he is doing something very wrong. At the very least, if you won't report him then get him to stop. Puppy's right, there may be legal implications for you too if it comes out, as you are directly profiting (though obviously not the one involved in doing the frauding!) from the situation everytime you get given stuff or money (it's all stolen) from your parents.
It's not even a morally ambiguous situation. Your dad is cold heartedly and in full knowledge damaging many other families, and even though your uncle went to jail, persists. The blood is thicker...argument holds no sway with me once something so callous as stealing from people comes into it.

Uh, firstly I think that if this is true, you're a bit thick...your IP address can be traced. Secondly, you are an accessory. That means you will be in trouble if you do nothing.
"If you rat on your pap, Kaiser Soze will come get you"
if you feel awful about it talk to your dad about it don't report him! - whats the use in upsetting your family more and causing a real mess that I am sure you don't want -- and also, end of the day -- he is your dad
Can I ask what he's doing? I'm intrigued.
Meep!

:ditto:

you'd better hope they don't trace your IP...

dont worry about your IP most IP carriers are dynamic and keep changing anyway.

what 'genre' of fraud is it, if they 'know what their doing' they probably wont get caught anyway.

and for the record, benefits fraud is one of the worse, and a jury would take a quite right dim view of it.

when you say 'worldwide fraud' I assume it involves credit/debit fraud, this happens all the time and due to the anonomity people get away with it all day everyday.

maybe, trying to be a good little non-earning cititizen, you perceive it to be fraud when really its just business, as most successful businesses involve being unethical (not illegal but a fine-line)

ISPs normally keep records of who is using what IP at any given time. Trust me, it could be tracked if someone with sufficient authority wanted to know the OPs identity.

If it was something really nasty like smuggling sex slaves then I would turn them in. But I'm not sure I would if it was a "blue collar" crime.
i think u shud tell your dad that if he doesnt stop u will go to the police
