Hi,
Using examples examine the costs and benefits to host countries of emigration from the UK to Mediterranean locations. (15 marks)

Benefits-More housing availability, more jobs available, there is better health care (e.g. waiting times),less pressure transport services, the source country will mainly receive the elderly dependants, either as a place to live when they retire, as they want a peaceful environment, this means that the need for elderly penitent care is less high for example services such as elderly peoples homes.

Drawbacks- Brain drain(when a country has a decrease in the literacy rate, as people with qualifications are leaving the country),less people working- economically active therefore the economy isn't thriving as well as it did, as literacy rate is low people may resort to crime and violence, a need for certain jobs that the population is not doing e.g. teachers and finally a need for more skilled workers such as engineers.
