are you asking 'Can I do a postgrad Masters in Engineering with a Physics background at undergrad?'. If so, then yes you most likely can. As long as you have a suitable background in Maths it shouldn't be an issue. Just check the requirements of places you are interested in.

FYI, MEng is an undergrad Masters in Engineering.
MSc would be a PostGrad Masters of Engineering.

I think it's MSc for the postgrade masters. MSci is an undergrad Masters in Science I think.

yeh, that's true. I'll edit.

Fair enough.

Coming from physics you would have a strong maths background ...physics is basically applied maths.

Also, it depends on the type of engineering. You'd be more likely to get onto an Electrical Engineering one (a lot of crossover) than a Civil Engineering one (less so).

I'd agree with this.
From what I have seen Mech eng and Aero eng are very mathematical (in fact, near enough entirely maths based) and a physics degree would in some ways seem very similar to me.
However as said, Civ Eng is less maths and more descriptive (I know I'm not doing it justice here, struggling for the words) so would probably not match onto the style of a physics degree as well.

This might be a stupid question, but can you get into a masters engineering course from a BSc in Physics?

Meant to say, give the uni's you might be interested in an email. Some will be receptive and some might not be (doesn't mean the top ones wont be and the bottoms ones will, it just depends on the institution itself). Would help if you could elect certain optional modules to make yourself more knowledgable in engineering fields and show a keen interest to make the move - the universities could advise the best course of action.

I'm in a similar position, just finishing my BSc in Physics and looking to go into Civil Engineering. Southampton Uni have a MSc in Civ. Eng. for people who didn't do it at undergraduate level, so it's certainly viable.
