I'm going to go no...whack some antiseptic on it and make sure there's no grit left in it and you'll be fine.

sorry see pic please.
I had a look, and due to my total lack of medical knowledge asked my mother (who's an A & E nurse) and she said put some antiseptic on it and let it heal. Its more likely to get infected than for you to get some flesh eating disease, and even infections aren't that common. When was the injury?

Just looks like a graze, you should be OK with antiseptic. I'd have thought there'd be warning signs if it turns necrotic? (if it does, more pictures?)
What the above person said

Doesnt ook as bad as u made it sound

Just put some antiseptic on it

Isn't a laceration a deep cut, or hole through the flesh?

It looks like a large graze to me. I agree with gingerbread, give it a wash and wack some antispeptic on it.

yeah - but it sounds cooler
not a great photo but that looks fine to me. if it starts oozing yicky stuff then its infected and yould be washed in salt water, otherwise just leave it alone and im sure you will live.

more to the point though:
since i put antiseptic on the skin after the fall 12 hours later - surely the bacteria can become systemic (enters bloodstream) - and this would progress to bacteraemia and possibly gram-negative bacterial sepsis?
My mum says that *******s...get a grip. But on a more amusing note- how do you know all those technical terms if youre not a doctor/med student? And if you are, shouldn't you already know?
In a non mean way of course- that sounded a bit harsh! Sorry!
you should be fine, plaster, clean antiseptic. if it does get infected, as in it smells and pus comes out you will have some strong antibiotics and thena ll back to normal again
