i have 'black outs'...

someone will be talking to me and my eyes will glaze over and i've retreated somewhere deep in my mind and the people around me have to sort of shout my name or something to 'bring me back'. it's so weird and i can't help it!

It could be a form of epilepsy so it's probably worth getting it checked out by a Doctor!

That's happened to me a few times. Most recent was a few weeks a go in Woolworths - felt like a right **** :redface:

Yes it can. If it happens when you're standing up (like with me) it's called orthostatic hypotension i.e. low blood pressure upon standing. The brain realises the problem and starts to close the body down.

I had one of them. Got up and went for a piss.

Woke up, and asked myself "?" Followed by "why the **** did I go to sleep here?", "why am I here?" and "where is here?" Laid there for a while until I worked out what happened, and then got on with life. Was quite fun, I want to do it again.

If I stand up too quickly I usually go quite light headed and my vision kinda blacks out a bit (not completley but vision certainly isn't normal). I've never fainted like that though, I usually just stand still and rest on something whilst it goes away.

yeah, it happens to me quite a lot. Probably once or twice a month. Once I was sat down and fell into a bowl of soup. Luckily it was lukewarm. But someone had to fish me out or I would have drowned :biggrin:

It was hilarious. It also happened when I was in a market in Peru. Apparently whilst I was out someone wanted to rob me but an old woman talked them out of it!! When I was there a doctor diagnosed me with a form of epilepsy, but since I returned the doctors won't even see me about it, so I don't know what to think. Oh well.... :p:

Yeah that's exactly like me. I have equally never fainted!!
